Charlotte standing at the door was staring at us with envy, she gritted her teeth as her eyes darkened.
“Andrew didn’t listen to me, he still went ahead to start the fireworks after I told him not to do it,” she said to herself as her face burned with anger. She hissed and left the terrace as she couldn’t stand seeing how cozy I was with Andrew. She went back to her room and threw herself on the bed. “I wonder what’s so special about her? I know she has a pretty face but I’m not that bad, I also have a nice body and a pretty face” she lamented as she rolled on the bed.
Andrew pulled me out of his embrace and kissed my forehead, “it’s getting late honey, I’ll head back home first” he muttered while cupping my face. I let out a sigh, “I was thinking that you could sleep over, you know it’s been a long time since we spent time together”
“I have to be at work early but I’d promise to keep in touch” he asserted, running his hand through my hair. I groaned, feeling devastated. I’d always planned on spending my birthday with Andrew since we’re now in the same city, but It seems like I was overthinking it. I even forgot that we now had a job to manage specifically Andrew who was working in a company.
“I understand, I’ll see you off then” I clutched his arm and led him down the stairs.
“See you soon then” I kissed his forehead and bid him goodbye.
“Lottie!” I called as I walked upstairs. She came out of her room standing at her door. “What’s the matter Audrey, I was sleeping already” she yawned, stretching her arms.
“Oh, sorry about that. I thought you were awake, since you’re up I’ll share the good news with you” I clapped my hand excitedly.
“Go on” she asserted with an arched brow. I grimaced, strode past her, and sat down on the bed.
“Andrew prepared fireworks for me, remember I’ve always wanted to see it with any man I got in my life” I excitedly gripped her hands. “He fulfilled my wish and even gave me a customized necklace.” I took out the necklace and showed it to her. Charlotte’s eyes widened as she hurriedly grabbed the necklace from me, “what! You mean Andrew gifted you this?” She inquired anxiously. I stared at her confused, “yes, he did! What’s the matter with you?”
“Oh, I’m just stunned that he gave you a customized emerald necklace, I know it costs a fortune so I was just startled” I chuckled.
“I’d thought about that before. He has been saving up to get me this on my birthday. I'm so touched. I have always known that he loves me a lot, but today he proved my thoughts right” I giggled smacking my feet on the bed.
“Lucky you girlfriend, every lady should get themselves Andrew” she affirmed and handed me the necklace. I left her room shortly after telling her goodnight.
I had a stressful day from setting the terrace for the birthday, and arranging everything just as Aubrey would like. I’m delighted that she gifted me a cloak and my favorite cake. Slowly I fell into slumber.
“Ding!” My bedside alarm blared continuously, I grunted angrily and got off the bed, I guess it’s time for me to destroy this weirdo always waking me up when I’m enjoying the sleep, I thought to myself glaring at the stupid alarm.
“Come on Audrey, don’t blame the poor clock. It’s just helping you to get to work on time, remember you live miles away from your store without its help you can’t be at work on time” my mind uttered casually. I scoffed and strode to the bathroom as I decided to ignore the clock because it was still in use.
I had my bath, wore a pink and white gown, and packed my hair. Applied a lip gloss and left my apartment after putting on a peach stiletto. Stepping out of the elevator it crossed my mind that I didn’t order a ride which means that I’m going to be late for work. I groaned glancing around the vicinity but no cab arrived. “f**k! What to do now, how can I forget about Uber?” I bit my lip as I checked my phone for the time. “Omg, it’s nine-thirty” I almost screamed, I thought of strolling down to the bus station. Atlas, I saw a cab coming out of another street, I beamed and waved at it. “Oh, thank goodness. I’ve been waiting for a cab all morning” I muttered as I stepped into the cab.
“You’re lucky to meet me now ma’am, why didn’t you order for a ride?”
“I forgot to do so, thanks” I asserted. He drove into the busy road of Boston and abruptly pulled over in front of my store after some time. I rushed into my store after paying him.
“Good morning ma’am” Addison greeted with bright eyes.
“Hey! How are you doing? I didn’t see you yesterday” sh sighed and notified me that her grandmother was rushed to the hospital yesterday.
“This is bad, why are you at work then? You should be at the hospital looking after your granny”
“Ma’am, we’re in a critical phase. The customers need to meet someone in the store when they arrive, I know that your apartment is far from here that’s why I decided to come to work.” She explained politely but I’d know where she was headed just that she doesn’t want to say it in a rash manner. I nodded my head and let her off work. “Thanks, ma’am” she mumbled, took her purse, and left.
