Eli I paced nervously outside the bathroom door, fidgeting with the tiny box jammed in my pant pocket. I bought the ring weeks ago, waiting for just the right moment to pop the big question. But everytime I went to do so, something came up and killed the moment. First there was the fancy dinner out I had planned. Everything was going perfectly, until Em started choking on a piece of her steak. Then there was our late night stroll under the stars when bats came out and started flying after us. Let's not even mention the boat ride when I dropped the ring off the second floor onto the first floor. I had to fake an upset stomach just so I could go look for it. And most recently was when we bought our house together and, during the move, my buddy dropped a table on my foot and broke my toe.
