Book 2 - Chapter 61

2293 Words

Valerie Derek and I spent several days in bed before finally leaving for our honeymoon. There he spent the entire time fussing over me, treating me as if I were made of glass. Since I told him we were expecting, he has hardly let me out of his sight. It was both sweet and nauseating. Speaking of nausea, it seemed most of my pregnancy was filled with it. I guess even being turned into a vampire couldn't stop the lows of pregnancy. Food was becoming my enemy, my body was achy, my feet swollen. My mood swings were giving me a whip lash. I'm confident that most of the palace staff were terrified of being around me, not knowing if I would snap on them or vomit or start crying. Derek was a saint to me, always patient, always knowing the right things to say, or just knowing when not to talk.
