"Lucas, Mia, lunch is ready!" I called from the edge of the water.
I could see their tiny heads swimming back towards the shore, getting bigger and bigger with every stroke. I headed back to our picnic bench where Jeffrey was finishing up taking food off the grill.
"It smells wonderful love." I complimented as I began uncovering all of our side dishes.
"I'm starving!" Lucas said, taking a seat.
"Me too!" Mia agreed, licking her lips already.
"Chew good." I warned, handing them each a plate.
"Do we know when they are arriving?" Jeffrey asked in a hushed tone, taking his seat across from me.
"They just said sometime today." I shrugged. "Eat." I said, flicking my head at the food in front of us.
We all began digging in, though my appetite was gone while playing the wait
