Scarlett
I was having the best time out with the girls. We had gone for an early dinner and cocktails. I haven’t had a good night out in a long time. I have been working so much recently, so I’m glad Nicole created a group chat and arranged for us all to go out. We were all so busy now with life; it was hard to get us all together.
“Why is your face tripping you?” Nicole asked.
“I’m fine,” I smiled, “Just waiting for the karaoke to start,” I added.
“Ok if you say so, Scarlett,” Nicole said, staring straight at me, then turned to get her drink off the bar.
I am fine, and I am happy, but my phone battery died before I got to tell Caleb where I was. I would love to meet him tonight. I gave the barman my phone to charge when I came in. So I will get it back shortly and reply to Caleb.
I can only hope he doesn’t think I never replied because I do not want to see him. As I sat chatting and having a drink with my friends, I felt like someone’s eyes were on me. And my first instinct was to panic because the first person that came to mind was PJ. It wouldn’t surprise me if he followed me here. I slowly turned to look around, to try and find the eyes I felt watching me, and I soon found who they belonged.
“Caleb,” I said loudly, the excitement evident in my voice.
My friends just looked at me, wondering who the hell Caleb was.
“Caleb, who is Caleb?” Nicole said, looking straight at the three men that just walked into the bar.
“I was going to tell you about him tonight. I um, just haven’t got around to it yet,” I replied.
“More to the point which one of the fine men is Caleb, they are all pretty fit,” Said Nicole, “Are any of them single?” She added.
“Nicole that’s enough, I don’t even really know them”, I said whilst staring straight over at Caleb.
Nicole recently broke up with her boyfriend. He was cheating on her, so she is on the rebound; just looking for any man with a pulse. She will not be getting her claws into Caleb, that is for sure. No one will.
“Who even are they?” She asked.
“I met Caleb at the coffee place I go to, he is the Assistant manager, and the blonde one is his colleague Nate, but I don’t know who the other blonde is,” I said.
“So the one with the dark hair is Caleb then? Damn! He is gorgeous,” She purred.
“And off limits,” I warned.
She held her hands up, nodding her head. I just wanted to make sure she knew. I sat my drink down and made my way over to him. I watch the biggest smile grow on his lips, the closer I get to him.
I see Nate giving the other guy a nudge towards the bar.
“Let’s get the drinks in,” I heard Nate saying.
The two of them headed off to the bar, leaving Caleb and me alone.
“Hi Caleb, I’m happy I’ve bumped into you. My phone battery died, so I’m getting it charged behind the bar,” I smiled at him, “I was going to get it back to text you just as you came in,” I added giggling nervously.
What is happening to me? Why am I acting so strange, and why am I rambling on trying to explain myself to him? I don’t even know what made me giggle; hopefully, he found it cute.
“It’s ok. I figured if you were going to be anywhere, it would be here singing your heart out,” Caleb said, laughing.
I did tell him my love for karaoke when we spend time together at the coffee house.
“Well, I am glad you showed up here,” I said, biting on my lower my lip.
He stepped in closer to me, placing his hand on my hip and reached into my ear.
“I am too,” He said, “And you look gorgeous tonight,” He added.
I feel a shiver shoot through me with the feel of his hot breath on my neck. I swallowed hard, stopping myself from letting out some stupid noise. He chuckled, pulling away.
“Come on, beautiful, let’s grab a drink,” He said.
He seemed more confident tonight than what he has been any other time that he has been around me.
“I would love a cocktail”, I said, smiling at him.
“What type of cocktail Scarlett? How about s*x on the beach?” Caleb said with a slight chuckle in his voice.
I don’t really blush, I’m not the sort to go red-faced easily but Caleb talking about s*x on the beach made me blush. I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks. I’m glad that I put on my full coverage foundation tonight; hopefully, it will disguise my blushing cheeks.
“Am I making you blush?” Caleb said, bringing his face closer to mine.
“What can I get you?” Asked the barmaid.
We both just looked at her, we were definitely having a moment there, and she ruined it.
“Two s*x on the beach cocktails please”, Caleb told the barmaid then looked straight back at me.
My eyes darted from his, and then down to his lips. I wanted badly to reach in and kiss him. I wanted to know what his lips felt like; it is something I have wondered since the moment we met. I knew right now was not the best place or time to kiss him, but I am hoping by the end of this night I will have the chance to find out what they feel like against my own.
I watch his eyes dart to my lips too, telling me he wanted to kiss me as much as I wanted to kiss him. He went to step into me, but as he did, the barmaid announced our drinks were ready. Seriously, again! I had to stop myself from glaring at her. It wasn’t her fault, she never knew, but I was still annoyed at her.
“The drinks look amazing,” I said to Caleb as my tongue found the straw so I could take my first sip.
He never took his eyes from my face going again between my eyes and my lips. I’m sure we both want each other as much as the other does.
“Alright, you two?” Nate kindly interrupted our moment.
He has had a good few drinks as he was bouncing about to the music.
“When are we going to sing on the karaoke guys, I love to sing,” Nate said.
“I would love to see you and Caleb up singing,” I replied, laughing.
“You won’t be laughing when you hear us belting out a tune,” Nate said, “Isn’t that right.” He added nudging Caleb.
“I am looking forward to hearing it,” I giggled.
“Don’t think you are getting away with it, Miss Scarlett,” Caleb said, “I will be dragging you up there with me too, at one point,” He added.
“I am quite alright with that. I love karaoke, be prepared to get shown up, baby boy,” I said smirking.
Caleb moved in closer to me, his hand falling on my hip. I feel myself shudder under his touch.
“Bring it on, baby girl,” He said, smirking back at me, “What should we sing, I say something fun and sexy,” He added, licking his lips.
“Next up is Nate and Caleb, where are you both?” John said he always does the karaoke in here.
It would seem like every time we get close; someone interrupts us. I’m sure we will get some time alone at some point tonight, or at least I hope we will.
“On you, both go, let’s see what you are made of,” I said laughing, “I am away to enjoy my drink with the girls,” I added smiling.
I turned away to sit down and watch them both singing.
“Girls get ready to watch this next duo up to sing,” I said to my friends.
“Please put your hands together for Caleb and Nate singing Westlife’s Uptown Girl,” John said, putting his hands together to start the clap.
Westlife, really? I was not expecting that, that was for sure. I couldn’t help but giggle at their choice of song. This should be interesting if nothing else. I put my full attention onto the stage, and the guys soon started singing. Ryan was sitting with us, laughing at his two friends.
I will admit they were not too bad; they seemed to be having fun. The females in the place were sure enjoying watching them both. I do not blame them; they were too good looking guys. They can look, as long as they do not touch, well Caleb anyway.
As soon as they finished everyone was clapping and whistling for them, I enjoyed watching them. They both came over and sat with us, so I did all the introductions because it looks like we will all be sitting together for the rest of the night. Nicole and Nate were hitting it off it would seem, anyway, and Ryan was talking to my other two friends.
“Everyone wanting some more cocktails and shots?” Ryan asked, standing to go to the bar. He didn’t even wait for an answer, and away he went to place the order.
He came back over with a tray full of shots and the barmaid brought over the cocktails. It looks like we are in for a good night, thankfully I don’t have work tomorrow.
