Chapter 19

344 Words
It's been three days. No one has found Stormie and R is nowhere to be found either. Since he disappeared after Stormie did, I can only imagine he went looking for her on his own. "We'll find them," Jonah assures me for the third time today. I nod and sigh helplessly. "I don't blame her for running. I-i cheated." I have to hold back tears as I admit that. When we first met, Stormie was hesitant to mate with me after learning about my reputation. She had asked how a man with a s*x count of over 100 was going to settle down and stay faithful. It's shameful I couldn't keep my one promise not to cheat on her when she came back from the dead to keep hers. I don't deserve her. R is right, but I can't let her go. I'm selfish and I would kill anyone who tries to keep her from me. Jonah and I sit in silence for twenty more minutes waiting for some news. Anything. That's when the phone rings. I know it won't be about Stormie because my pack would just mind link, but I answer anyway. "Alpha Ragnar." "Ragnar this is Alpha Rufus. I was wondering if you had a minute?" I tap a finger on my desk and tell him I do. "Wonderful. Now... They don't want me to tell you. I mean, your Luna specifically asked me not to tell you they were here, but I imagine there was a misunderstanding. Your gamma has been trying to convince her to go back and hear you out, but whatever this girl has been through, probably dying and rising again has scared her away." So now the other packs will know my Luna is alive. She feels safer away from me? Or is she just hurt? Both? I bet with R and I both there, Stormie will have to come home. "Thank you Rufus. I'll be there by sundown to collect them." After a hasty goodbye, I tell Jonah to prepare the car. I'm coming, Stormie.
