Chapter 14

637 Words
Neither of us say a word. We don't need to. I run to my mate and lift her fragile body into a tight embrace. It's impossible to hold back my choked sobs and I can feel Stormie's tears hitting my neck. "I love you," she says hoarsely. "And I told you so." I smile even though she can't see it and sniff harshly. "I love you. I missed you..." She nods and we silently agree to just revel in each other's presence. So, we do. For three hours, we sit on the floor in my doorway and just hold each other. I know we would stay longer, but Stormie is not only drifting off to sleep, but also hates being dirty. "I’m going to take a shower. We'll talk tomorrow okay?" I refuse to loosen my grip, so her struggles stop shortly after they start and my mate looks at me with exasperation. "I'm coming right back." I shake my head and stand with her still in my arms. "I'm never letting you out of my sight again." I'm thrilled when she doesn't even try to argue. She only sighs before nodding to the bathroom. For the first time in three months, I hold my mate closely and bathe with her. It's much less romantic as there's no shower s*x, but cleaning the dirt off my mate is anything but a hassle. She's alive... How? I know she said we'd talk tomorrow, so I don't push her. I rid myself of curiosity by focusing on Stormie's hair. It takes four handfuls of conditioner to untangle the mess and work the matted clumps out of it, but when I finish, she as beautiful as the day we met. Even after I clean her off, I just hold her in the shower for another good hour. R and Jonah will be thrilled, but I don't want them smothering her, so I decide to tell them tomorrow afternoon. They'll be angry I didn't tell them tonight, but at least they'll know before the rest of the pack. The only thing my mate and I can seem to say is 'i love you.' We must have said it fifty times since she showed up at my door. Getting out of the shower, Stormie grabs the towel from my hand and drops it on the floor before pushing me to the bedroom. She shoves me onto the bed before pulling the black mesh curtains around the canopy bed and climbing in herself. "I love you, so much." With that, she presses her soft warm lips to mine and contentment runs through my body. My lips work against hers hotly, but I refuse to let her take control. I flip her roughly, but my kisses remain gentle. I work my hands around her body and bring one to stop at her neck. Pulling away, I look down at the bruised skin. This was broken. It snapped. I heard it. But she's okay now. My mate is here. Providing myself with reassurance, I lean down to kiss my mate more passionately. More desperately. God I've missed her. Not to mention I've been celibate for three months. Ever since I found Stormie, we'd been lucky enough to be together every day. Sure, every now and then, we'd be off at a different pack for meetings, but most days we pulled each other away four or five times to have some alone time with each other. Attached at the hip is what we were and I’m going to be more than thrilled to get that connection back once and for all. Now that I have my mate back, I'll be thrilled to get back into those practices, but tonight I just want to take it slow and enjoy having my mate again.
