The Broken Chain

Chapter five.

I sat in Lucas's lap for the whole time we ate, he did not let me go but he did hear my wish to be close to Godmother so we sat down next to her. When we sat down she introduced me to the people, Ana and Penny were the older women there and them and Godmother were the mothers. They told me if someone gave me trouble then I should tell them and they would deal with it, Penny was a sweet and calming person but Ana was more strict and more protective. That's when Lucas mention that Fin and Ben burst in to our room this morning when I was getting out of the shower and Ana gave her sons a hard glare and without saying a word they came up to me and apologized. That made me worried that they would hold this against me, I didn't tell their mother Lucas did. 

But they had to say sorry to you and that hurts a wolf's pride. 

Kali please don't know. 

Alright but you know I am right. 

I knew it and I feel certain that they already don't like me. 

Then they kept on introducing me to everyone, there was Oliver Anas mate, Elmar the little boy sitting with a book in his hands and not even looking up at me. Elmar was so cute, he was about ten I would guess but he still had his childlike face. Then there was Julie Penny's daughter sitting with Iris Lucas's sister, Iris smiles at me but then goes back to her friend that smiles at me as well. Then finally Lucas introduced me to Fin and Ben, his best friends, I smiled at them and they both smile at me back and Fin even winked at me. I was taken a little back, winking? Is that not a sign of affection? I have only seen in movies that people wink if they like the person. Then Lucas kissed me on the cheek but a little too far back but then he whispers in my ear. 

“Don't stare sugar it rude unless its at me” 

I blink my eyes and look at him, was I staring too long at them for real or was he just jealous? I hate not having good social skills. Godmother then puts two dishes in front of us and we start to eat our breakfast, I am still on Lucas's lap because he did not let me get off. I got eggs, bacon, beans and a bowl of cut up fruit and Lucas got the same but twice as much and he was twice as fast as me at finishing his food. 

“Lucas you are running practise today! I am going into down to meet some other alphas for golf” 

I look up and there in the door frame is Lucas's father in some sportswear, he is really a handsome man for his age with those gray eyes and still pitch black hair. He is big and strong like Lucas or Lucas is like him, he has some wrinkles in his face but that just means he has life experience. 

“But who will be with Ella then?” he asked a little too harshly. 

I am not a child I can be by myself for a couple of hours and I would not dream of keeping him from his duties as future alpha. 

“I will be fine on my own!” I say quickly. 

Then I notice his and his father's eyes go distant and they are talking. 

“She can hang out with me for goddess sake don't start with that” Godmother calls at them while she is walking towards her mate. 

She kisses him and both him and Lucas loose the distance look, Lucas looks at me but I can't understand the meaning behind his stare. 

“Will that be okey? The practice is about three hours but I don't want to leave you”

“Yes it's fine I will be fine, I will be with Godmother!” I say excited. 

He nodded his head and kisses me on the forehead again while making me stand up, I stand up and stand before him. He takes me into a big bear hug and sends thousand kisses all over the bare skin he touched, I will never get used to his touch. He walks out of the kitchen yelling Ben and Fin to follow him, after he is gone most of the others leave as well, Oliver takes Elmar and walks out. The girls take their back packs and leave so now in the kitchen there is just me, Godmother, Ana and Penny. 

“Can I ask why you call her Godmother?” Penny asks. 

I jerked a little at someone talking to me and I look at her to make sure she was talking to me and sure enough she was looking at me. 

“O omm oo om” I was panicking, I forgot the words. 

“When I came to her when she was five she thought I was her fairy godmother and since then she has just used that nickname and I like it” Godmother answered for me. 

Godmother then started to tell them our story and I just sat there listening to her tell it but I was on guard if they asked me another question. I was not going to choke again, I needed to get used to people talking to me, I needed to get used to strangers talking to me. 

“Do you guys still feel the bond? Or was it totally broken?” Ana asked looking from me to Godmother. 

Godmother looked at me and I could feel that she wanted me to answer, she was giving me another chance. 

“No we don't feel the bond in the sense of feeling it like a mate bond but I want to say on my side I still feel connected to Godmother like she is a special person to me, if it wasn't for her then I would not be here” 

They are now both looking at me. 

“And did you guys ever find out what was wrong with you?” Ana asks. 

“Yes, the thing is I am half werewolf but my other half is a witch. I have magic and werewolf inside of me and because my bloodline is so strong that both sides could not live with each other but since both sides were equally as strong so instead of canceling out either part they were killing me. But with the help of magic that says that mates of alphas do not die of diseases I could take controlling hand of my sides”

All three of them just stare at me, did I share too much information? I have seen in movies that sharing too much will not make you popular with people, they find that disturbing.

“You have magic?” Penny asks finally breaking the silence.

I nod my head. 

“Could we see?” she asks and with a childish grin on her lips. 

I smile at her and snap my fingers, before her appeared a cupcake, it is big with purple frosting and strawberry on top. All three of them gasp and smile, they all looked at me and I could just feel they were impressed and they wanted to see more. I smiled because father never liked my magic and I always had to hold back from using it but they wanted me to use it! 

That was the rest of our day, we moved to a room with a big window looking to the woods surrounding the house. Penny and Ana made themselves comfortable in the big couch but me and Godmother sat down in the two lazy boys across from them. I only did small spells and fun tricks for them but they were so impressed, laughed and smiled all the time. When Lucas came back all sweaty from practice I had called forth a lot of sweets and candy that were scattered around the table. Then I had changed their clothes and their hairstyles, it was really funny because Ana had pink hair, Penny purple, Godmother green and I had blue hair. 

“What happened?”

“MOM!” Fin shouts when he come in behind Lucas. 

He looks horrid at his mother pink hair and new clothes but she just smiles at him. 

“What you don't like it? I think your father will love it!” she said teasing him while playing with her hair. 

“He would love you in a black garbage bag but that is not the point” Fin said still staring at his mother's hair. 

She looks at me and gives me a look, I just smile and nod my head, I snap my fingers and all their hair goes back and the sweets are gone but they wanted to keep the clothes. When that happened his eyes widen even more and Lucas's eyes widen as well. 

I smile and rock myself back and forth in the lazy boy, I feel so happy about using my magic so freely. 

“You have magic?” Fin said looking at me. 

My smile vanishes, what does he mean? Is he disgusted by me? Should I have hidden my magic? Is he going to attack me? I nod my head. 

He straightens his back and looks serious, he now looks so much more like his twin, what is going on? 

Then he gets an elbow in his side from Lucas. 

“Don't get jealous. Your mate will be just as awesome as mine” 

Fin looks at his friend but he is not smiling or making fun, he takes one last look at me and then walks out of the room. Lucas walks over to me and kisses me on the forehead, he smells like sweat, blood, dirt and Lucas, I love it. 

“I am going to take a shower then I was thinking if we could go out to dinner just the two of us?” he asked hopefully. 

I nod my head and smile again.
