Chapter Five - Her secret.

1054 Words
“Aunt Korma?” Mara repeated. Aunt Korma wasn’t human? She was a representative of another planet? Zeug? How can it be? Mara exhales. How can it not be? Aunt Korma was strange after all. She claims she’s allergic to sunlight but somehow anyone could know she’s lying. She doesn’t for public events because she didn’t have an identity to start with. She’s alien! Then maybe mother found out. Or maybe hasn’t found out. Mother doesn’t like Aunt Korma but could this be why? Mara looks up at her Uncle. He didn’t seem like someone who had just dropped a ground-shaking news. An alien living amongst then? Perhaps Aunt Korma belongs to the category of aliens who could adapt a Human’s body. Maybe she isn’t in her real form. Why did Uncle marry her? Oh, could it be why all her children dies? Maybe because they’re not completely human and couldn’t adapt. What would a half human half alien look like? What was Uncle thinking by marrying her? Oh, was he charmed? Does Aunt Korma also belong to the category of aliens that have supernatural powers? Oh my, should I tell mother? What would mother do? Would Uncle let me tell on his wife? Then why did he even tell me? Was he expecting me to keep it secret? And why should I? “Why did you tell me Aunt Korma wasn’t human?” it was the first time Mara was raising her voice at her Uncle. With Michael’s facial look, Mara could tell something was wrong. He looked like he was struggling, he’s face was turning red. “Uncle?” Mara muttered. All of a sudden, Michael drags her neck and begins choking her. She tries pulling and pushing but she does it mildly to avoid hurting him much. Was he mad? Did he finally realize he shouldn’t have told her? His grip on her neck became tighter. Mara tried screaming but no screams came out. Tears dropped down her eyes as she struggles to breathe. With all her strength, she hits him on his groin and makes for the door. But he grabs hold of her, again. He hadn’t even felt pain. Was he now a monster? When he had let go for a while, Mara had screamed as she made for the door. Doctor Fawn, who had been waiting for Michael, his FBI agent, heard the noise and ran back to his lab. Michael finally fell to the ground after series of blows had been given to him. He looked dead. “Thank you, Doctor” Mara gasped trying hard to normalize her breathing. What had happened? ******************************************************** “I’m on my way” Leah answered and cut the call. What had happened that would leave her daughter and brother at the hospital? What was her brother doing at Mara’s school? Visiting? Hope he didn’t come with Korma? Korma shouldn’t be anywhere near her daughter. Leah stepped on her acceleration and sped up. What in the world was happening? As Mara slept, Korma eyed down at here wickedly. The little girl knew her secret. She had freed Michael from her spell while he went to see Doctor Fawn. If she hadn’t, Doctor Fawn would have noticed that he was being controlled. Well, Michael had still spilled her secret. She thought of killing him right that moment. She thought of scorching his face and making him bleed from his nose. But when she realized Mara had understood everything, she decided to make Michael strangle her. If only Michael wasn’t resisting within himself, Mara would have been dead before Doctor Fawn had came. Mara opened her eyes slowly. “Mommy?” she yawned on seeing a figure besides her bed. Terror filled her pupils when she realized it was Korma. Korma smiled, the girl really did understand everything. “Tell a soul and I’d take your soul” Korma threatened. Dumbstruck, Mara began to cry. Korma escapes her Ward to another to avoid getting unnecessary attention. Mara stops crying, she peeks to be sure Korma was out of sight. She smiles despite the tears rolling down her cheeks. She would play Korma’s game. Act normal, then backstabbing. She was human after all. No alien could intimidate her on her own planet. Korma should be the one to be afraid and not her. She’s the one with no identity not her. She’s the one who’s would get bisected and studied if the government ever gets her. She’s the one who has all the bad lucks and not her. “Steal my soul? Well, watch out for yours!” Mara smirks. It was time for revenge. If her mother was right, and it seemed she was, her Uncle Max who she barely knew must have committed suicide with reasons connecting to Korma. Korma was also a reason her Uncle tried killing her. To think she had once felt pity for her. Mara brings out the little folded paper from her pocket. It was the theory Korma had made on the year 2000. Michael had submitted with the name “Anonymous”. This theory was the only thing that made Mara hesitate. It stands a chance to be true or why else could Korma be on Earth. And why didn’t Korma go to a great leader like a governor or president to complain to, why did she come to Uncle Michael? If it was really a matter of urgency, why just tell a common FBI agent? Also, why get married to him? Why bear children for him? If his planet is about to be destroyed, why make a home with him in it? Why? Why? Aunt Korma seems stranger, she must have had another goal. “Mara, are you okay?” Leah barges into the ward and feels Mara’s temperature. Mara hides back the paper in my pockets. “What happened that your Uncle is in coma?” Leah asked her. “Coma?” repeated Mara. She didn’t know Korma could go that far to put her husband in a coma. She was the only one who could manipulate Michael like that. “Mara, what happened?” Leah shakes Mara back to consciousness. “Mom, Korma happened”. Author's note: Thanks for reading.
