Chapter 9

427 Words
It's been almost two weeks and I'm no doctor, but I think it worked. I was supposed to start my period two days ago, but nada. In fact, Troy is on his way back from the store now. As soon as I told him I was late, he went off to get a pregnancy test. Jasmine just nodded and gave my midsection a small glance before going back to her phone. That's the most interesting I've seen from her yet. At least I don't think she hates me anymore. "I'm back!" Troy's feet can be heard running through the house into the oversized living room. He smiles when he sees me and hands me a bag. "Here. Let's see if it worked." I go to the bathroom and see that he bought not one, not two, but seven tests. Excited much? I do my best to distribute my pee onto all the sticks and not run out, but it's more difficult than you'd think. I set them all in a line on the counter and check the clock before leaving the bathroom and sitting back on the couch. "So?" I raise a brow at Troy. "You need to wait ten minutes before the test knows." He looks dissapointed, but nods in understanding. After the time is up, he follows me in a rush to the bathroom where I look at all the tests. + + || pregnant + + pregnant "It worked! You're pregnant! We're having a baby!" Troy picks me up in a hug that's become quite common lately and I struggle to keep my face out of his neck. "You mean you're having a baby," I correct. He nods and goes to tell Jasmine it worked while I head outside. I need some fresh air. I'm really am surprised. I knew this would happen, but now that it is happening, I'm nervous. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, I'm glad I sold my virginity that one time. I can't imagine pushing a baby out while still a virgin. "Tess? Since you're officially pregnant, we need to start the health regamens now. I'll take you to the gym three times a week, whenever you feel good enough. Remember when I told you about my best friend?" "The nutritionist?" Troy nods. "Yeah. He's going to be living here with us until you deliver. He'll make sure you and the baby get enough food and stay healthy. He'll arrive next week." I'll be almost a month pregnant by then. It's crazy to think. At least I'll have lots of help.
