MEREDITH TOOK CHERRY out onto the wide balcony that led off from the functions room. No function was being held at the residence at that moment, but Cherry could imagine the music, dancing, free-flowing drinks and stacks of food. Meredith held regular formal parties, as a way of smoothing strained relationships between important figures in Concordian society.
