Chapter Five: Revealing Their Suspicions

2116 Words
Maeve The sound of porclain breaking on the ground filled the room as I watched the birds flying over the ground and high on the sky. They were so free and careless, without any worries weighting them down. The sun was up and slowly rising towards the sky, it looked like yet another bright autumn day. At least the weather was pleasant. Although, the blue sky was doing nothing to light up my mood. Quite on the contrary, I felt worse knowing that my heart was clouded with pain and anguish when there was such an amazing day. Dazzling, vivid, twinkling day promising a good time. Totally different than I was feeling. The thunderstrom raging inside me with lightnings and heavy rain. I was sad and brooding, forlorn and miserable. The weight of blame I was carrying with me spread through my body overtaking every cell and bringing me down. Now I had finally told my Luna the reason behind me losing a focus during the fight. The shocked expression on her face was telling me everything I needed to know. She opened her mouth as to say something, but then closed it shaking her head as a tear slipped down her cheek. Violet wipped the tear away from her face as she looked at me, "Are you sure you saw him? Is it true?" I nodded my head in agreement, "Yes, I am certain it was him. I was him with my own eyes. I could feel the bond between us. He is not dead, Violet." She glanced down on the ground seeing the broken cup and slipped tea as she waved her hand, the white light coming out cleaning the mess she had made previously. It wasn´t the first time I saw her using her magic and spells, but I was impressed yet again. Such a useful ability. I was jealous. Heavy sigh came from her as her hand went to her mouth, her grey eyes widened slightly. "Oh my Goddess!" she exclaimed as she jumped from her armchair and started to pace around the room. "I cannot believe it!" Violet continued to walk up and down before she went to the window and looked outside appearing to be deep in thought. "You remember I told you I didn´t feel the bond snap between us." I reminded her the talk we had a few days ago, even though it felt like years since I found out about my mate being kidnapped and probably dead. We were undergoing a visit in Raising Sun coven to find out more about a prediction a certain Oracle witch had. The witch turned out to be our new Luna and Sawyer´s mate, Violet. Their story was quick, but full of action and romance. It was obvious that they loved each other deeply, truely and madly. Like a true mates would. I wanted that. Desprately. I wanted that with Elyes. But how could I have it when my mate was an enemy? How could I even be with him when he was nowhere to be find? "Yes, I do remember." Violet confirmed. "I had thought it was because I wasn´t of age to feel it, but now I know it was becasue Elyes was never dead. He was taken by the rogues and he probably works for them!" I spoke revealing my suspicion. "But the rogues were working for a warlock, weren´t they? Not other way around." Violet pointed out making me thought back to the brainstorming we had before attacking. We assumed that the rogues we working for a dark warlock who kidnapped Lucas because he was a hybrid. But maybe Elyes and the other witches and warlocks were also serving the dark warlock. I remembered what Jonah found out during the surrvilance. The red-haired warlock was Elyes! He was in the rogues´ territory, but it seemed he disliked, almost hated them. So, he must had been forced to be there by his master! Maybe, just maybe he wasn´t a bad person. Maybe there was still a chance for his redemption. If only I could see him again. Talk to him and find out what had happened to him throughout the years he went missing. "So, Elyes is working for a dark warlock and was there just to keep an eye on the rogues. Jonah said there was a warlock with apparent disdain for the rogues." I revealed my thoughts to her seeing her nod in agreement. "That is possible, but we won´t know the truth about Elyes, unless we ask the one involved." Violet said, she was a very levelheaded, wise and rational, "It´s never good to just assume things." "We need to find him," I confirmed to her with a determination in my eyes, "but how?" I asked her as the hopelessness found its way to my voice. I didn´t know where to start and how to look for him. We hardly found out where the rogues´ territory was and now after the rest did an expection of the territory going through and search throughfully, but not finding anything of importance for us. There was no lead to where the warlock and his followers reside. "Well, let me think about it." Violet said as she poured herself another cup of steaming tea drinking it slowly. The sun was almost up on the sky as the day progressed, but I wasn´t aware about a time or what was happening outside. I couldn´t focus on anything other than my mate and how to find him. I needed to find him. I would go mad if I didn´t. Werewolves were social creatures and they needed a partner to share life with. That was the reason why the Moon Goddess blessed us with a mate. A perfect half of our soul. I needed to complete our broken soul. Two halves would merge in one. Mine was still lacking and loging for the finishing. I let my Luna think about the possibilites because I had no ideas. I was sulken, woebegone, miserable and down in the dumps. Again, my heart was breaking with every passing day I had spent without my mate. The bond between us snapped in place when our eyes connected and now my wolf, Maya was howling inside me day and night, nonstop mourning and begging for out mate to return to us. I shared her pain, her depression and weeping. I was torn, barely holding myself, but I knew I needed to be strong. If I would potentialy have a chance in future with Elyes I needed to be ready to face to consequences and troubles that would for sure await for us. I would accept my mate, but would he do the same? I detected the hatred in his cold electric blue eyes when he was looking at the werewolves. I saw the surprise and shock when our eyes connected and I noticed the way his body reacted to me. He went rigid as the coldness in his eyes shifted slightly, but I couldn´t identify the emotion that replaced it. "Got it!" Violet´s excited voice reached my mind and brought me back to the presence. "You do?" I asked reluctantly, not wanting to get my hopes high. "I definitely do!" she said to me, her grey eyes shining with happiness and determination. "So, how will we find him?" I questioned her feeling a small hope creep up my body and filling my heart as it started to beat a little faster as the adrenaline was flowing through me. Maya stopped her whinning for a minute listening to what our Luna had to say. "Using a spell," Violet revealed to me making my eyebrows raised in silent question. Her excitement was obvious as her eyes were now shining. I could feel the energy and power of Luna emitting from her. She hadn´t had her Luna ceremony yet, so she wasn´t connected with a pack yet, but Sawyer marking her made her Luna anyway. "But they already tried to locate him using a spell after he was kidnapped nine years ago!" I reminded her as my hand went ot my hair in frustared manner. "Correct," she told me not losing her bright smile and hope in her stormy grey eyes, "But they haven´t tried to use a power of the mate bond." She whispered secretly, her eyes sparkling with a knowing glint, "The most sacred and the most powerful of the magic between two people." "Okay, and how exactly will the mate bond connection help us in spell?" I nodded liking her idea, but wanted to know more. "I will make a potion using your blood and then perform a spell to call for the connection. The locating crystal will be soaked in the potion and then it will reveal Elyes´s position to us." She explained to me making the hope in my heart rose slightly as I smiled a little for the first time since leaving the coven. "Let´s do this then!" I jumped to my knees excited to start right now. "We cannot yet," Violet stopped me with a rueful smile on her face. "Why?" I snapped at her upset, the tears were gathering in my eyes as I felt the small hope escaping again. "Meave, calm down." Violet stood up and hugged me. The wave of calmness from her touch was doing little to nothing to calm me down, but I tried to push the dispair I was feeling down. "I just need to prepare the ingredients for the potion and it will take some time, hopefully I will have it in two to three days. I am sorry, but ..." she started to say and I could feel she was remorseful, so I put my hand on her arm to reassure her it was alright. "It´s okay, Violet. I apologise for my outburst. I guess, I am just on the edge these few days. I went from thinking my mate was dead to find out he was alive and an enemy to us." I told her as I looked into her stormy grey eyes seeing an empathy there. She understood my feelings. "I know," she smiled, "I won´t hold it against you," she teased. "Thank you, Luna." I teased back seeing her roll her eyes at me, "I trust you," I declared seeing as a bright smile spread on her lips. "I trust your abilities. You are a powerful witch. I mean you saved Sawyer´s life!" I exclaimed, "Your magic brought him back from death." I told her impressed, still not believing she resurrected Sawyer. I knew she was a very powerful witch. I saw her fight with the rogues that came over our territory and attacked her in the kindergarten, but seeing her bring someone back from dead with her magic was something entirely different. I was humbled and thankful that we were blessed by such a strong and remarkably exeptional Luna. "That´s where you are wrong. It wasn´t my magic," Violet exclaimed making me looked at her flabbergasted. "What do you mean, it wasn´t your magic?" I asked her thinking over any other possibility. There was no other witch or wizard present with Sawyer who could safe him. The High Priestess and her magicians were all occupied otherwise or weak to even heal Sawyer´s wound and it all happened so fast. One moment, we were all fighting and the enxt he was injured and dying. I was caught up with my own mate drama, not realising what was happening round me. "My magic is white, the one saving Sawyer and bringing him back to life was blue magic," she continued to say as she took one of the Victoria sponge cakes devouring it in two bites. "And?" I asked her not getting what she was indicating. I was lost thinking over someone else who could be charming at the time but not remembering anyone other than Violet. "I think it was someone else´s magic. Someone who shared their power with me," Violet blabbered as she took another cake eating it. Her hand went to her stomach as my eyes widened in realisation. No way! But yes way actually. Werewolves were very s****l creatures and I was sure she and Sawyer was going at it as often as they could. "I might be pregnant," she spoke with uncertainity.
