Asher charged Mack who grabbed his hands. They grappled, but Asher's strength was soon the victor. He threw Mack against the bed and lunged at the young man. My hero grabbed Mack about the throat and pinned him to the mattress. Mack clawed at Asher and his long fingernails cut into Asher's long sleeves.
Asher's eyes were glowing green and his teeth, too, were far longer than they should have been. The tears in his sleeves were large and allowed me to see his arms. The scales had stretched up beyond his elbows, thick and shimmering.
Mack made a grotesque gurgling noise and his arms flailed about. "Asher!" I cried out as I rushed over to them. I grabbed Asher's arms and tried to tear them away. "You're killing him!"
