{~Aphrodite Malhotra~}
I tried to keep my mind off the men that had ruined my sister’s life. They were sexy, I'll give them that. But I have a plan to stick to. I can’t believe the goddess would do this to me. I finally get what Penelope meant when she had condemned the moon goddess for setting her up to die.
In my third life, when I was a guardian, I protected a girl named Penelope Rogan. She is now the queen of the heathens den, and married to four vampires with seven kids.
She was the first friend I ever trusted, and she taught me so much. Those vampires had been her second chance because her first mate was a douche who nearly killed her, and auctioned her off.
I thought the goddess was just trying to help her find her happiness because that’s what happened in the end. But that can’t be the same for me. I cannot see a world where I forgive the men who bullied my sister. Clion is missing because of them.
And because of the women of this sorority.
I’ll be damned if I end up as the fool who falls for the bad guys. I’m here for one thing only.
Sure, I might have flirted with one of them. But that was just to get their attention. From the hungry way they looked at me, it was clear that I had succeeded.
The girl in front of me started to speak as the doors closed behind us with a resounding click.
“Welcome to the sweetie pie sorority. Our slogan is; sweetness in unity, strength in sisterhood! We’re happy to have you as one of our new Sweeite pies. Come, come, I'll take you to your sister’s room. Her things are still there.”
They are? The headmaster didn’t even hide them? Could that mean he was telling the truth? No, that doesn’t lead to that conclusion. It’s more like he didn’t give a f**k about my sister. None of them did.
I hid my frown, and calmed myself. Telling myself that it would help in the long run if I kept my anger at bay. Once I know exactly what happened, I will f**k up everyone. I mean… every single one. Not a single one of these cruel people will get away with what they did.
“Oh that is wonderful.” the cheery tone didn’t fit me at all. But hey, it will be worth it. “Do you know why she went silent? She stopped returning my calls.”
The girl chuckled. “Who cares what that w***e did? We all know she had this guy that she liked so much. She left with him from what I heard. But that’s not the point, the leaders are ready to meet you. Just go into that room.”
I dug my nails into the palm of my hand. I want this b***h dead.
But I held it in. Seriously, my temper will get me into trouble. I need to keep it together. I can’t let it blow up right now.
She led me to my sister’s old room, and I found that the room was in the basement. But that wasn’t anything to freak out about. It was the condition of the room. Even a rat couldn’t live here.
“What the hell is this? Did my sister sleep in these conditions?" I asked in horror. A hand nudged me hard in the back, and I tumbled down the stairs. I threw my hands out in front of me, blocking the hit to my head. The ground was made of concrete, and had I been a regular wolf I would have broken something. Like my hands and neck.
Groaning, I lay at the bottom of the stairs. I tried to think about who could have shoved me?
I heard laughter coming from the top of the stairs.
“You did say you wanted to take your sister’s spot. This is it. Now get up. We need the guest bathroom cleaned, and let’s just say the last person in there was a frat guy with heavy diarrhea.” a girl laughed as she spoke. I got up, rubbing my hands over my elbows. My knees had scraped the steps. A regular wolf doesn’t self-heal, but as a lycan I can heal as many times as I want. I can control it too.
Looking at the filthy state of the room, and realizing those girls had my bags, I shot a glare their way.
I was struggling to hold in my anger, but being pushed onto concrete made me think of Clion. How the f**k did she survive two years of this? The thought of what my poor sister went through by herself made me want to rip the skin off their faces. And that tore through the cap on the bottle of my rage.
“Look, I am not my sister. I came here to get my degree and to make memories. If you push me again, I will bury you alive.”
The girl with red hair chuckled. “Oh yeah, and how will you do that?”
“Well..” I brushed my sweater, and cracked my neck to the side to free the ache. I stopped my body from healing in front of them. “I could target your poor knee. Scraping it flat on the hot floor during a track tournament can be really embarrassing. It’s the kind of incident that leaves a permanent injury, like your very own achilles heel.”
The girl dropped her smile, the two other women next her looked at me with anger.
“Did that hurt you, Lydia? My sister had good things to say about you, and I really hope this is just a prank and you didn’t push me here to send a message.”
They shot their eyebrows up, and they stepped out of the way. Kicking my bags down the stairs. I stood there. Letting the bags fall to my feet.
I didn’t flinch, I didn't budge, I just stared.
“Right, just a prank. How did you know my name, stalker?”
“Clion told me. My sister said so many good things about you girls, I was hoping to be a friend." I didn’t add that I did my research on them. They were easier to track. They posted almost everything.
The red head laughed again. The other girls were a Texan blonde, a monster hunter. And a half Asian beauty, a siren.
The red head was a witch.
Lydia mayweather. Lucy liu. And Lana van helsing.
From the research I did, these girls came from some of the richest and cruelest families. Although I lost it with them this time, I was proud I'd kept my anger to a minimum. Because I'm a 'put hands first before questions' type of girl. Seeing as I didn’t attack them, I could safely say that they would still underestimate me.
They would get back at me for talking back to them, and I was counting on it.
“Hmm. Well then, I don’t think you’d be suitable to take your sister’s place. So I guess we don’t have a room for you.” Lana said, her tone was chilling.
“Really? Okay, I’ll go directly to Pharoah Nileborn and ask him about transferring to the dorms instead. He did say I could come to him if I had an issue. And I’m guessing you’ll r****d me my money, right?”
Pharoah’s name got the reaction I was hoping to see with that lie. The girls turned into scared fish. They nearly bumped into each other trying to back away.
“No no, don’t be ridiculous. You wanna be friends? Sure. We’re having a welcome sleep over. Just stay here, get some cleaning supplies. Don’t go to Pharaoh. Okay bye.” Lana was the first to run out, and the other two followed.
They were known as the Luminous Trio. I found their names from the internet. Their social media pages were filled with photos that had the tag of their group name. Three girls, three different worlds, three equally wicked spirits.
I thanked the empty spots where they were once standing, and laughed to myself. If they knew what I had planned, they would have insisted even harder that I leave.
My attention was brought back to the basement. It was spacious and atrocious. Filled with the stench of blood, vomit, and other things my nose didn’t want to perceive.
Clion, what happened? What did they do to you? Why didn’t you tell me?
I found cleaning supplies in a cupboard upstairs. Most of the other girls avoided me. There were a total of twenty-eight. And I was the twenty-ninth member.
I cleaned the entire room. There were used condoms, ruined panties, shredded pieces of clothes. Goddess, it felt like I was cleaning a s*x dungeon.
After gruelling hours, I was finally done. I’d healed myself, and took a shower in the basement bathroom. I dressed into something for the night and started arranging my clothes in the closet. And the other items that I brought with me.
With that done, I went up the stairs and shut the door. Locking it with the key that was placed on the other side. I’m surprised no one tried to lock me in.
With my privacy ensured, I started to check my sister’s things. She had four diaries, no wearable clothes, and some products that I wanted to burn.
She had a lot of first aid boxes.
My heart was beating really fast and I knew I needed to step away to process before diving into the diaries. I hid them, and made my way out the basement window.
The sun had set long ago, and the house was full of light. I’m guessing the girls have started their sleepover.
Clion’s enemies have no problems fitting back into life, it's like she was the problem not them.
I started walking with no clear path, trying to discern why my sister, my best friend, would think of hiding this from me. She could never speak up, always going along with everything like a servant. She was too submissive. I know not all omegas are that, and I blame the White Lotus pack for instilling such horrible ideas into the minds of the young omegas.
Always be submissive. f**k them all. I kicked something, and watched it fly off into the distance. When did I get to the forest? I must have been distracted.
I kept walking, feeling the eerie sense that I was being watched. It wasn’t until my heartbeat was the only thing I could hear that I realized I was most definitely being watched.
I searched for the spy, sniffing the air around me. Mate, the hungry wolf within me growled. I buried it even more.
I am not weak to my canal urges.
“Show yourself.”
There was nothing. Silence and the rustling of the wind against the trees, and my skin. Goosebumps rose all over my body.
I continued walking when my watcher remained silent. After a few more minutes, there was nothing. Yet my heart wouldn’t take a moment to calm down.
I stopped with a gasp when I found myself next to a cliff. My mind flashed back to my sister’s text. The waves against the sharp rocks.
I dropped to my knees, clutching my stomach and trying to stop the panic and the loud thumping of the organ in my chest. f**k f**k f**k.
My vision blurred and I didn't realize I was tipping over until a hand reached for my shoulder. Dragging me away from the cliff.
I went on alert, grabbing the hand, and steadying my knees. I jammed my elbow into the side of the stranger's stomach and moved to flip them over. Only for them to flip the situation on me.
My back struck the floor, and I came face to face with…. One of the Nileborn brothers.
He had strange marks drawn around the corner of his mouth, and deep aqua marine eyes that pierced through me.
He moved away from me, his robust physique made me look like an ant next to him. Which is just an exaggeration.
I remembered him from the limo. He was the silent one. The one signing. Lucky for me, I know ASL.
*You understand me?*
I wasn’t sure whether I should answer or not. When he was speaking to his brothers, I only got a bit of the conversation on his side. Because I was sure he’d notice if I was paying attention.
I nodded, “Yeah. Were you watching me?”
He didn’t respond. Instead, he ran a hand through his hair, turned around and started to retreat. Only to turn back to sign something to me.
*I'm Sobek. Stay away from the cliff. It’s dangerous, you could fall.*
In seconds, he was gone. I mean gone like he had blended with the forest. I cursed loudly.
I know I just f****d up. I need to keep an eye on Sobek. It seems like he might be my biggest problem. Or as my beast felt tense, he might be one of many problems waiting for me.
