003- The Problem With The Fated

1905 Words
{♣Ra Nileborn♣} When did we become errand boys? If we could say no to our father we would have told him that we didn’t need to take a day out of our lives to pick up some werewolf. I felt the icy thrills coming off all of my brothers. The unhappiness was mutual all around. A phone beeped, and seeing as it’s not mine, I didn't move. “The jet should be here in fourteen mintues.” Hapi dragged out a sigh. “Do any of you even remember this girl’s sister?” “Yeah,” I answered. “Do you remember if she was important?” Hapi followed up. I thought about it. The answer was no. I don’t recall her being important, not even once. She was dumb though. Clion Malhotra had a big crush on Sobek, and she kept pestering him to go out with her. I won’t say we were mean but I will say that she probably wished she had avoided him. It also doesn’t help that her sorority is wild for mine. She was at every party, being treated like a foot stool because she wouldn’t speak up for herself. Pay attention, I didn't say couldn’t. She could. She refused too. It was too perfect. How could we not mess with her? She was practically begging for it. But we didn’t do anything that could have explained what happened two months ago. I swear it. We’re little saints. “I remember her being annoying. Omegas are just… ugh.” Cairo grunted. I wanted to correct him and say omegas weren’t bad. Just werewolf omegas. Weak creatures. You could say we’re intimidating, and maybe that’s why even alphas become submissive in front of us, but I think if you have a strong enough back bone you shouldn’t let a bunch of guys intimidate you. I say this and yet it was my idea to f**k with Clion. I almost laughed out loud. However, I was not prepared for my father’s phone call this morning. Clion apparently had a sister who was asking questions, and that sister was arriving here today. We have one job, evaluate her. We need to determine whether or not she poses as a threat to us. “Be quiet.” I commanded, and my brothers glared. “She’s here.” “And so? If she’s anything like her sister then she won’t even be able to look at us in the eye.” Hapi has a point, but I still shushed him When the jet finally made its landing, and the stairs were let down we paid full attention to the door. Waiting for the first glance at the next Malhotra to grace our school. They have a unique last name, but there’s nothing unique about their family. When the door opened, I made an effort not to openly gawk, maintaining a composed demeanor instead. What on earth? Dressed in a large brown sweater that stopped at her thighs, and a black pop socks with thick brown boots stood the girl named Aphrodite. I have to be honest, her name suddenly made sense. She could compete with the actual goddess and win. I sent my brothers a look but they were as transfixed as I was. As she stepped out into a clearer view, my gaze fell upon her again, and something shifted within me. It was as though a dormant ember in my chest had suddenly ignited, casting a warm, flickering light through the cold corridors of my heart. Her presence seemed to breathe life into the frigid chambers, thawing the icy walls I had so carefully constructed. Her features, delicate and graceful, held a loud strength that commanded attention. Her eyes were her most arresting features. Sharp and penetrating, they shimmer with a fiery red hue, like the heart of a blazing inferno framed by thick, coal black rims. They draw you in, revealing depths of intensity and determination. When she gazes at you, it feels like she’s staring into your soul. The cool exterior I so meticulously maintained quivered, like the surface of a frozen lake thawing in the early light of spring. It was as if the world outside ceased to exist, leaving only the two of us, suspended in a moment of silent recognition. The air around us crackled with an unspoken fear, a connection that transcended the confines of words. My beast howled MATE! I felt the pulse of my own heart, once steady and measured, now quicken, dancing to a rhythm only she seemed to command. It was a sensation both exhilarating and disconcerting, like the first thaw of winter, when the world shifts and reshapes itself in ways unforeseen. In her presence, I discovered an unfamiliar warmth, a tenderness I hadn't known I possessed. It was a revelation, as if my heart had been slumbering all these years, waiting for her to awaken it from its dormant state. And in that moment, I realized that the frost that once encased me was giving way to something infinitely more profound—a connection that promised to thaw even the coldest corners of my soul. That connection made me want to snap something in half. The thought of mating never clicked into my head once and knowing that I had just found my destined mate made me want to throw up from what i pray isn’t nervousness. That bit of anger snapped me out of my stupor. Father gave us a job to do. “Welcome to The Inferno Peak Academy.” my voice seemed to bring her out of her shock. She started walking down the steps, in fact she hopped down. She should have appeared like a prey but something about her made me think we were the prey instead. Her curls of purple bounced with her. Her scent reminded me immediately of Clion but…. Is it possible to feel like I'm being tricked? Like her scent doesn’t suit her? This wasn’t a bunny, she was like a sly fox. Full of deception. I kept that mental note as she stopped in front of me. “Hi, I’m aphrodite. It’s nice to meet you.” That surprised me. Did Clion not mention us to her? I’m a little bit insulted. From the questions father said she asked, surely her sister brought us up. “Ra Nileborn. It’s nice to meet you too.” I gave her my right hand, and she shook it. Her grip…. Gods her grip was unbelievable. I narrowed my eyes, and she grinned. What is she? She released my hand, and I bit back a pathetic wince. “Right this way. Will you be staying at a dorm? Or a sorority?” I inquired, motioning for her to get into the limo. She slipped in, and like the animals my brothers were they watched her ass. I mean to their defense, I did the exact same thing. Her ass were like two round globes, bouncing up and down. Oh mama, I'd like to- no. no. This girl is definitely not an average omega. We joined her in the limo. My brothers sat on both sides away from the back seat so they could watch her. Me? I sat next to her. “Sorority. I wrote to the Sweetie-pie sorority, and my sister had such good things to say about them. They wrote back and said they’d give me her spot.” I subtly glanced at my brother Hapi, and he gave me the same expression back. Does she know what her sister’s spot was? From her smile, I could tell she didn’t. A bit naive, and a bit stupid on Clion’s part to keep things from her family. “Are you sure? There are other sororities.” “Oh I know, but this one has my name written all over it.” her eyes widened, and they held a sparkle that sent chills. I like her already. She’d be fun to play with. I ran a hand over hair, clutching a curl between two fingers. Tugging it back and forth. She twisted her head, her eyes lowering to my mouth before focusing back on my eyes. Like f**k me… there was something attractive, and frightening in the way she looked at me. My lips curled into a smirk. “You know that sorority is close with ours, right?” “Is that so? What’s the name of your fraternity?” “You’ll find out.” Someone cleared their throat loudly, and we turned our heads towards the voice. Anubis had an eyebrow raised. “Ra, what are you doing?” he spoke in Arabic. “Nothing. What do you mean?” “We are supposed to evaluate her, not flirt. You do remember what happened to her sister right?” I rolled my eyes, and Aphrodite tapped her thighs. Even though she didn’t understand she was humming a tune to keep herself busy. “I know that. I am evaluating her. But I felt a connection. This woman is my mate. At least let me enjoy her even if I can't keep her.” Sobek snapped his fingers to get my attention, then he proceeded to sign. *So what? I felt that too but I feel her aura is stronger than an omega.* “I’m sorry, what? you felt the mating connection too?” All of my brothers nodded, I just thought they were attracted to her but I never … I didn’t think we could all be fated to one girl. What the f**k is up with that? I returned my eyes to her. She was still humming. She must have felt it too but we’re all ignoring it. This strong fiery burn. “But we don’t care. We have to keep an eye on her. She can’t… can’t find out.” Cairo's voice brought me back to my brothers. Sobek signed again. *And remember, disobeying father is a bad idea.* My lips thinned, and I nodded. Sobek knows more than anyone what happens when you go against Pharoah Nileborn. For your own sake, Aphrodite…. I hope you’re as naive as you look. The limo arrived at the front of the sweetie-pie sorority, the driver already knew where to go. The sorority has a really stupid name for that terrible band of girls that are a part of it. I got out first, helping Aphrodite out and waiting for the driver to get her bags out. “I hope to see more of you.” “I’m sure you will.” I could be wrong, but there was a promise in that. She then looked away. I stepped back before my brothers could start judging me. They might still be in the car but I doubt it’ll stop them. Once all her bags were in front of her, she began dragging them one by one up the stairs. The double oak wood doors opened, and I waved to the girl who walked out to help aphrodite. I wish that little fox well. I know how Clion was when we first met. That sorority will break anyone before sending them our way to do the rest. I got back into the vehicle, and Hapi gave the driver instructions to take us to the manor off campus. Time to report everything to our father. Except, of course, the issue with this girl being our mate.
