Just walked a few tens of meters, Mike saw a towering tree. The sun was rising and getting hotter, he took the initiative to approach the tree for shelter before continuing his journey.
A few meters before he reached the tree, Mike saw a group of people under the tree. Mike immediately lowered his head and hid warily. He began to crawl toward the taller weeds and walked toward them in a sneaky way. Mike didn't want his fate to end the same as Lucas's. Die silly in this stupid place.
As he was a few meters away, Mike heard the voices of a few girls and a boy. He tried to peek. There were two girls and one boy who were also wearing the same clothes as him. Mike was sure that they were participants. He jumped out of the weeds.
"Hey guys!"
"AAAAA!" the two girls shouted.
While the boy in front of him only showed a surprised expression.
"Don't be scared. My name is Mike Anderson. I am a participant too.”
The three of them showed relieved expressions. Lucas introduced himself, as well as Jane and Sara.
“Hey, what happened with your shirt?”
“Oh, this .…” Mike was silent for a moment.
Making the three teenagers become confused and look at each other. Mike is confused between being honest or lying.
“This-is-because… I caught a rabbit and killed it because I was hungry,” Mike stammered.
Sarah frowned. She was suspicious of Mike's attitude.
“Are you sure for killing the rabbit? And not for killing your friend?”
Sara's words seemed to pierce his heart. Yes, he didn't kill Luke. Luke was killed by being hit by arrows and daggers that didn't know where they came from. But Mike refuses to help him and leaves him alone. To make matters worse, he even took Luke's map. Does that also include murder? Did that mean he had also killed his friend?
"N-No. You're new to me and you're already accusing me. You are ridiculous!”
"Sarah, please! Can you don't make a trouble?" shouted Lucas.
"What! I am making a trouble? Seriously? So you have more faith in him who just came a few minutes ago than me who has been with you for a long time? I can't believe this!”
“This is not about how longer you are already with us,” Lucas explained.
"That's enough!" shouted Jane. She looked at Mike sharply, "Okay, you can join us."
"Thanks." Mike looks very happy.
"But! … If you dare to do such things, then I will not hesitate to kill you. Understand?!"
"O-okay. I see."
Jane walked behind the tree. The body of the boy of one of the participants lay there. Jane had put the necklace containing the map in the boy's hand into her pocket. Although she didn't know what that piece of map was for, she was sure that it was one of the clues for them to get out of here.
She opened her bag and pulled out a t-shirt. Covering the boy's face with her t-shirt.
"Hope you rest in peace. And sorry, I should take your map. We need it more than you.”
She returned to meet her three friends.
"We have to keep moving. I'm afraid the black-robed men will find us here," suggested Jane.
They agreed and started walking away from the tree together.
