She did not seem surprised seeing me there with Princess Katherine, she didn’t dare to look at me or Princess Katherine she simply just walked away from where we were standing.
“Are people always looking away when they see you?” I asked Princess Katherine as soon as we got to the garden,
“No, why do you ask?” She asked me
“I just noticed how your waiting lady was looking down while you were speaking to her and the other guards as well” I told her
“Oh! That’s because they are not allowed to be anywhere near royals.”
“You mean you don’t treat people equally because you think you are superior than them?” I asked her getting disappointed with her reply, here I am with the most praised and admired Princess yet she cannot see people equally what a waste of time.
She simply kept quiet without any reply.
“Tell me Prince Aiden, why do you desperately want this marriage” She asked me after keeping quiet for a long time,
“I do not understand your question if I must say Your Highness” I told her
“Please call me Katherine,” She said going around her Garden as I followed her in suit.
“This Garden was my mother’s before she died.”

“Which brings me to my question, why do you want to marry me?” she asked me

I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the lady before me, but my heart was already taken.
“One year ago, you sent word that you could not marry me, Why the sudden change of heart?” she asked me
Listening to all of her questions I now understood why she never had any close to her.
“The truth is I need you by my side if I am to have safe kingdom, with the help of your father all those who are our sworn enemies will bow down and the king’s council wont dare utter any word about my reign.” I told her truthfully, I saw Ella come to the garden without sparing me any gaze.
“My Lady, the tea is served” She told Katherine with her head looking down, how I wished I could rush and embrace her but I had a huge responsibility and my people to protect. And the only hope I had was princess Katherine,
"Thank you Ella" I heard Katherine answer Ella,
"Your Highness , would you like to go inside for a cup for tea?" she asked me, I nodded my head and she led the way to the balcony, I walked past Ella who still had slowed her head and I cold hear my heart skip a beat.
"Tell me your highness is there someone you have in your heart?" she asked me shortly after settling down, when she was pouring me tea.
"My apologies Katherine but I prefer not to talk about my love life" I answered her
"Very well then If this is how marriage will be then I also have some rules" she said,
"You Need me more than I need you so I think before we make it official I would like to know what am being forced to do what to expect" She added on
