Ella! I heard my name being called from around the store we were trying to get supplies from, I knew that voice very well it was the voice of my love.
I went behind the shelfs and he engulfed me in a hug and planted a kiss on my lips.
“My love! I missed you so much.” I kissed him back,
“Ella there’s something I have to tell you, please meet me later today’’ he said after breaking off the kiss.
“My love is something wrong’’ I asked him
“please Ella I will explain later but you need to meet me later”
“Very well then I will see you at noon” I briefly kissed him and he left.
Without noticing that Martha had seen us,
“My God! What have you done child?” She asked looking like she had seen a ghost,
“Martha I won’t know what you are talking about until tell me’’ I said to her
‘’Why did it have to be him’’ she cried out
“Martha, do you know him?” I asked her after seeing that she was not telling anything
“You need to stop meeting with him and the princess should never find out about this” she said with a serious face
“But I don’t understand what this has to do with the princess’’ I don’t understand Martha
She shook her head tears running down her face,
“Am sorry child but you can not be with that man, He is the man betrothed to the princess” she said
Saying that my heart was crushed would be an underestimate, I could not believe what my ears heard
“No! NO! I said shaking my head “I need to see him Martha, I just want to hear him say that this is all a dream” I pleaded with her
“No! You can’t, if the king ever finds out about this, he will have you stoned to death. Promise me you will never see him again or ever mention his name’’ she said but I just looked at her, she held both my hands and looked at me, tears were running down my face I couldn’t believe what was happening to me.
“I promise” I finally said it out,
“Quickly we need to get back now, we need to prepare dinner for the royal guests” She said to me
The whole time we were going back I was quiet, remembering the time I was with him, his touch, his kisses tears just kept flowing down.
When we finally reached the Castle, I asked for the rest of the day off and Martha just agreed. I went to my room and cried my eyes out.
The Next day I went back to work, how was I to work without feeling guilty that I unknowingly slept with a friend’s future husband, I blamed my parents for not being born in noble families. I was dusting the Katherine’s room without realising I had been at same spot for a long period.
“Ella! Is something bothering you?” I heard her voice ask me with her calm and gentle voice I looked at her and tears just fell from my eyes.
“Are you alright?” she came towards me I could see worry all over her face
“Am so sorry” I said to her, she pulled me in an embrace and tears could not just stop coming out.
“Whatever the matter may be, I assure you am here for you” She whispered to me
“Thank you so much for your kindness and always being there for me always” I said to her
“Hush now!” She said,
I broke off the embrace and assured her that I will be happy from now on, I asked if she needed anything but she simply just shook her head. I hastily left her room to go out.

I had waited for her from noon till dawn and she did not come. Could it be something is wrong? Or she didn’t love me? I asked myself hundred questions countless time,
“Your Highness, we need to go back to the palace now before everyone notices that you are missing” Neil Pleaded with me,
Maybe if I had told her the truth, she would not have run away I tried to comfort myself. Neil Finally managed to convince me to go back, everyone was so happy except me.
You should try to get to know Princess Katherine am told she is one of the most beautiful women here and she’s quite wise and knowledgeable, Neil said to me but I was not interested in her.
She was not the kind of woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
“What do you think about Princess Katherine?” My father asked me when he came to where I was,
“I think she’s a Beautiful woman” I said to him
“That’s very good cause when she’s of age, you will be marrying her and I expect you to be nice to her and get to know her because you will need her when am gone” he said reminding me of what we discussed when we were riding here, I simply nodded my head without saying a word
Six years later my father passed away due to an unknown sickness. Since his death every day the villagers were being attacked and our kingdom was not doing too well, All the king’s advisors were against me and they kingdom was becoming weak every day.
You need to meet King William Madsen! Neil once said to me, I could not allow myself to look like a weak person in front of the advisors and council.

I looked at her not believing my eyes, she was still alive and standing before me. What was I going to do about this? I was free to be with anyone but I needed Princess Katherine by my side if I was to get the help of the king.
