My wolf perked up instantly after she heard the word rogue.
Could it be our mate? My wolf excitedly asked and I resisted the urge to facepalm.
Can you for a second stop thinking about him? I snapped at her. I'm dying from nervousness. What if he's really our mate? And the pack members have captured him? Just as quickly I set the ridiculous thought aside.
My pack members will not be able to capture him. He'll kill them even before they manage to touch him.
What if he got captured on his own? So, that he can see us?
I hate to say this but my heart started to pump with excitement because of her words. Damn her. She's playing with my mind.
I glowered at her and she smiled in reply. Leave it at her to be so damn cocky all the time.
You love my cockiness. She commented in a proud voice. I snickered and shook my head at her. She's not going to change her attitude, not that I want her too. She is perfect the way she is and I can't imagine myself paired with another wolf than her.
Alpha? Josh asked through the mind link.
Yes? I asked confused but then I remembered the reason he linked me. Ahm, I'll be there in a minute. Do not do anything till then. I ordered them to stay put until I get there and hurriedly left the packhouse, turning into my wolf before I made my way where my pack members are waiting.
My mood instantly worsened when I saw Beta Issac in the group. I can already hear the upcoming arguments.
I turned my head to the side to see who they have captured but my pack members are standing in the front so I'm not able to see.
Without wasting any time I hid behind a tree which has piles of clean clothes near the trunk of the tree.
I pull out a simple white dress, shifted back in my human form then slid the dress on my body. The dress is a little short for my liking but for now, it's not my biggest concern.
I took a deep breath, I don't even know why I'm so nervous. Maybe because deep down I'm hoping he's the one they captured. It'll mean that he has missed me and can't wait to see me so he pretends to get captured by my pack?
I snorted at my thoughts. If he can cross the borders undetected and that too just to stalk me through windows then he can cross the borders to meet me anytime. If he so wanted to meet me he could have signalled me but he chooses to just see me through the window like a damn pervert.
We are his mate, he can stare at us anytime he wants. My wolf butted in like always.
Of course, he can see us anytime but not like some creepy stalker. I snapped at my wolf and she growled when I called him a creepy stalker. Well, it's kind of true. If he is going to act like that then I'm going to call him by appropriate names.
My wolf didn't like the fact that I'm insulting our damn mate so she growled at me once again before she cut our link.
As I neared them the pack members turned around and bowed at me. At that time I noticed that they have tied the wolf with ropes and the end of the ropes are in the hands of my pack members. I know that they did that to make sure the wolf don't run but that is not a way to treat anyone, especially our own kind.
"Move", I order a few members so I can see the wolf. When the wolf heard my voice it stopped growling at my pack members and perked up, making small pitiful whimpers.
My brows furrowed as I looked at the wolf which is starting me back with puppy eyes, making small, childlike whimpers. Is she trying to make me pity her? My lips twitched and I fought not to smile. This wolf, whoever it is, is really a cunning one.
I took a whiff discreetly, I don't know why I did that but I did. My heart started to beat fastly when I realised she has the same scent as the members of my mate's group.
Are they pack? I wondered because they won't be able to smell a little like each other if they're not a member of a pack.
The pack members all have their scents exchanged so that any other pack can know that they're not rogues and are a member of pack.
I took another whiff and a snarl ripped out of my chest. Red, hot anger washed over me. My nails turned into claws and my canines grew with the intention to rip the wolf into shreds.
The damn wolf is reeking of my mate's smell. My wolf started to growl at me to rip her throat out for touching our mate.
I lost any rationality as I prepared myself to kill the wolf and I would have if not for Josh.
"Alpha?", Josh screamed and I turned to him, seeing his shocked expression. I realised where I am and looked around to see my pack members silently cowering with fright.
My eyes softened and I controlled my Alpha aura so I don't scare them any more than I already have.
I pursed my lips as I turned to the she-wolf who is really shaking with fright.
"Untie her and let her leave", I commanded and my pack members immediately got to work.
"You have got to be kidding me", Beta Issac growled and I turned my gaze to him, warning him with my eyes to continue whatever bullshit he was about to say.
He turned his gaze away from me and cursed under his breath. Ignoring his mindless words I turned to the she-wolf and my eyes darkened with anger once again.
"Leave and never return", I shouted at her and like a scared dog she ran away with her tail between her legs.
You should have killed her. My wolf snarled with anger. I ignored her and commanded the pack members to leave. Without any words, they got out of my sight.
Let's go after her and kill her. My wolf hissed in frustration. I pursed my lips and my eyes stung with tears. That damn bastard betrayed us. My wolf sensed my gloomy mood and left me alone.
I took a deep breath to control the raging emotions. I cursed myself to not see the reality before. Of course, he's out there f*****g anything and everything he can while I'm foolishly thinking about him all damn time.
Not again. I'll not make a fool out of myself. If he thinks he can destroy my peaceful life, making me fantasize about our future while he's f*****g another b***h then he has another thing coming.
I stormed into the packhouse, ignoring the members and made my way into my office, slamming the door shut behind me.
I have made my decision. I'll reject him when we meet next time, damn the consequences. My eyes shone with determination as I ignored the whine of my wolf.
I heard a painful howl from somewhere deep in the forest.
I have already made my decision and no one can make me change it. No one, especially not the painful howl of my mate.
