Bella's POV
"Derek!" I called out, my voice trembling with fear. "Why did you stay back?" I asked, my eyes fixated on the mysterious glowing light emanating from a corner of the room. This was unlike anything I had ever experienced, and panic started to set in.
"What is that glowing light?" Derek asked, curiosity evident in his voice. I knew I had to come up with a plausible explanation immediately; he couldn't find out about it.
"It... it's nothing," I stammered nervously, hoping he would drop the subject.
"It's definitely something," he insisted, moving towards the glowing light.
"It's my new nightlight. I must have accidentally turned it on before leaving," I lied, trying to stop him from getting any closer. Just as he was about to say something, Liam, my son, came in and interrupt
