Bella's POV
"D-Derek, you're here," I stuttered, my heart pounding at the sight of him. Derek was the last person I thought I would see here.
"I came to watch over Liam, knowing that Michael won't be around," he says, his gaze suspiciously fixed on me. "What are you doing here?" he asks, raising an eyebrow.
"I came here for the same reason. I mean, he's my son, so it's only proper that I take care of him," I replied, forcing an awkward laugh.
"I guess you are his mom after all," he says calmly. "I'll leave now so you can be with your son," he adds, seemingly ready to turn and walk away.
"No, no, you're here already. I'll be glad if you spend more time with your son," I say, trying to hide my nerves. "I'll get going now," I added, offering an awkward smile.
