“What is wrong?” I questioned Lexa. She had me worried because she was restless and whimpering.

“Something is wrong Sam. I can feel it,” she complained. Was it Austin? Was it me? I inwardly asked myself.

I managed to peel myself out of Austin’s arms.

"What’s wrong? Are you okay?” He asked me as I smiled nodding my head and forcing a smile on my face.

“We shouldn’t be doing this. Remember that we are the future Luna and Alpha of this pack. We can’t let people find out making out in public,” I said to him. I was lying to my mate.

“Come on with me then.”

He whispered to me, his hand touching me as I felt shivers. “What’s wrong? I can tell that something is wrong” he held my hand pulling me towards him. Lexa seemed to calm down when he held us but I kept on thinking about what she just said.

“Let’s talk later, okay? I have to see the Luna” I tried to move away, and he pulled me closer kissing my forehead as he smiled at me. “I can’t wait to be with you,” He said as I took a deep breath. Lexa seemed to have calmed down now, I loved the smell of rainfall and flowers.

“Please wait. Just a little longer” I whisper. Pulling away, I place my hands on his chest to keep him away from me. He groans but I am sure Luna would prefer to know that I shifted first before finally giving my body to him.

“I promise I will see you soon” I cup his face as he closes his eyes, smiling at me. He seems to enjoy being touched. I am sure jasper his wolf feels what Lexa is feeling right now.

“Sam!” I hear Luna’s voice behind me and I quickly remove my hand from Austin who whimpers softly. I turn around to look at her, she is glaring at me.

“I am waiting inside.”

She says monotone. She’s always so calm and you can’t tell what she is thinking because she never smiles or even shows any emotions, but I know I am going to be scolded.

“See you later” I move away from Austin, walking after Luna, who was eyeing Austin before turning around. She is walking so elegantly in her ivory white long-sleeved dress with a deep V-neck.

She is a fashion icon in the pack. Every woman wants to look like her. “The ceremony will begin at 7 pm. By then you should make sure that all the things are in place. I don’t want surprises.” She went on giving instructions to her omega Kelly.

She is a perfectionist, and she wants everything perfect, from the food to the music and the outfits for everyone. Hell, if she had any choice she would also make sure that she fixes my nose.

Lexa. What was wrong? You seemed restless earlier.

I don’t know. I felt like something was wrong. But I don’t feel like that anymore. She assured me as I smile. I am glad she is not as nervous as before. Maybe it could have been that most men reject their mates if she is not what they expected her to be. But what do I know?

‘Did you hear what I just said?” The Luna asked me, bringing me back to reality, I didn’t even realise that she had stopped walking and was talking to me.

“I am sorry Luna. I just...”

I stuttered as she sighed heavily, looking at me. “Sam, people expect the best tonight. You just can’t ignore me when I am talking,” she burst out as I looked at her, why she was getting upset.

“I am sorry Luna” I quickly apologised to her, so that she doesn’t go on talking. She let out an exasperated sigh walking away without saying anything to me I bit my lower lip thinking about what just happened.

She doesn’t seem to like us. Lexa complained as I smile at myself.

She’s not like that. She’s a good woman, but can be tough as well. I try to avoid getting on her bad side. I expressed walking to the kitchen; I was supervising the cooking even though I hate it and would rather be at the training field right now.

The hours went by so fast that before I could even finish up everything that I was doing; it was soon the ceremony. I stood at a distance watching people dancing and singing songs. This is the time of the year that I enjoy the most. Our pack is very peaceful, we try to avoid conflict as much as possible.

“You look beautiful” Austin’s mind linked me as I blushed, my face turning red. “How I wish I could take off that dress,” He said as I looked in the direction where he was sitting.

“One more hour,” I replied waiting for the time that I could finally shift. Alpha Nathan stood up from his chair as he went to give his speech. Loud howls filled the place as I smiled at myself. Some people had already shifted.

“Please. I want you” Austin’s mind linked me again as I smiled.

“Meet me in the cabin”

I replied as I looked around; I know we should wait for that moment but it was already past midnight, and I had already thought of shifting but the Luna insisted I do it when everyone has.

I looked around, making sure that no one sees me as I sneak out to the back. I placed my drink on the table before walking away. I picked up the hem of my dress as I ran to the cabin.

I reached the cabin, and I found Austin sitting, without wasting time I rushed into his arms as he crushed his lips on mine.

I pulled off the shirt that he was wearing after pulling him on the couch as he pulled me closer to him. We loved the way his touch felt, and the warmth his body brought to us. He pulled the dress off me, bring his hand to my breast, he caressed the gently.
