I Was The First One To Set Eyes On Him

Elena POV

It was the next day.I walked into his ward.He was asleep like an angel.I leaned closer to him.

''Mr.Redfield.'' I called put gently.

He looked at me and frowned.

''Will you get up now? If you want to rest,I can reschedule our session.'' I whispered.

''And if you are wondering why I am still here,there is no other physiotherapist available.There has been a hard lockdown declared in the hospital but don't worry.You are safe here.'' I explained.

''I am sorry that you got stuck with me.'' I added.

''It's fine.I am not stuck with you.It is my honour to be treated by you.It's just that I really love my wife so...I feel guilty when you are around.'' He said.

''I am really sorry.I truly am.'' I whispered.

''Don't be.'' He said.

''I will get someone to grab your breakfast.After you are done,we will start our session an hour after you are ready.'' I explained.

''Thanks.'' He smiled tiredly.

''I am telling you.You can sleep if you want.We can reschedule.'' I said.

''It's just 10.Can we do it in 1?'' He asked.

''Of course.Be up by 12.30.Have your breakfast.I will be around.'' I smiled.

"Did you have breakfast properly?" I asked as I tried to move his arms.

"Yeah." He smiled.He was really kind.There was always this hint of kindness in his voice.

"You shouldn't touch me like this." He whispered,all of a sudden.

"I'm your doctor." I replied.

"I know.I just feel so guilty." He said sadly.I sat on his bed.I ran my fingers on his face.

"You're a diamond,James Redfield.I want you for myself." I whispered.

"I am married." He whispered.

"I don't care." I whispered as I leaned in to kiss him.I didn't kiss him though.Just brushed my lips on his.Let him feel the heat.

"Please.Don't." He pleaded innocently.

"I am not doing anything.I am not even kissing you.Is that considered cheating?" I asked.

"I am married.I have a happy family.I'd die rather than to let them go." He said.

"I don't know that you have a family." I smirked as I licked his lips.

"Elena...I don't deserve you." He whispered.

"I don't deserve you either,James.No one else in the world deserves you.Just that I feel jealous when Adele has the best man for herself.I want you for myself." I whispered.

"Dr.Alvarez,can we quickly finish our session?" He asked.

"As you wish, price handsome." I whispered.I was done with his session after an hour.He still couldn't move his arms.He was in a lot of pain.

"Elena! What's wrong with you!" The chief grabbed me inside his office.

"What?" I asked.

"Did you- oh god, Elena! Did you do anything to James?" He asked.

"To James? What would I do to him?" I asked.

"He...oh god.That poor guy was so sad.He told me not to tell you but it is my responsibility to!"

"What?" I asked.

''Did you seduce him? He has a wife and a kid,Elena!" He said.

I was silent.

"Over that,James is like my own son! I didn't expect such cheap activities from you!" He said out of disgust.

"Chief I-"

"Save it,Elena! This is the last straw.Just know that you are no longer an attending any more.You've been demoted to residency." He said as he threw some papers towards me.

"Bradley! You can't do this to me!" I yelled.

"Keep that tone down, young lady!" He said.

"I am the best you've got!" I argued.

"You can't be serious!" I almost cried.It was about my reputation.I was the best in town and now I was being demoted to being a resident?

"I am sorry.Please give me another chance!" I cried.

"This was your last chance.Don't make me remind you of what you did 2 years ago." He said.I stopped breathing.My whole body was shaking.

"And if you mention to James that I've told you about this.Elena,I don't care who you are or if you are the best or not.You will be terminated.I have covered for you the last time and I won't do it again."
