Bradley walked into Elena's chamber with

a cup of coffee in his hands.None of them were stable at this point.The least he could do was fix what he still can.

She stopped working and looked at him.

"What's with the muffler?" He asked.

"Mistake." Elena whispered. Bradley took a seat in front of her.

"James?" He asked.

"I did not sleep with James." She murmured.

"I made a mistake. I slept with Maximilian." She shivered with every word she spoke.

"What!" Bradley choked on his coffee.

"Excuse me." He coughed as he grabbed a couple of napkins and started to wipe the desk.

"How? I mean why?" He asked.

Elena's hand began to shake.She took a deep breath and tried her level best to not break down in tears over the mistake she has done.

"When I saw James on the bed with his wife,my heart broke.I-I couldn't control myself. I was miserable. I shared these things with Maximilian. Then at night, he came to my room and seduced me. I was messed up and I gave in.The anger and jealousy of seeing James with someone else conquered me. " She finally broke down in tears.

"We did it a few times. Then,I confessed that I used him to get over James. He was angry in a very disturbing way. Sarah was in love with Maxi. She came to know about this and now she hates me.Everything is fucked.I don't know what to do. " She wiped her tears.

"Elena, James needs you.He does not know what to do but what he knows that he needs a chance to apologize to you. " Bradley grabbed her hands to support her.

"I am done with James.I have ended things with him.He deserves to be with his wife not me." Elena sniffed hardly.

"It does not make him love you any less." He sighed.

"He does not love me! " She slammed her hands on the table in anger and pain.

"Then go make him love you! You are Elena f*****g Alvarez! You don't let people control your fate.You rewrite it! So don't be late.Do it while there is still time!" He said loudly. Although, a part of him regretted it because he didn't want to ruin James and Adele's marriage, he still saw Elena as his own daughter. Despite him being angry on her or despite everything, he still loved her like a father would love her daughter.

Bradley looked through his texts as tears fell on the screen.Life was f*****g cruel and uncertain. People had the audacity to make you fall hard in love and then throw away those feelings like nothing.

Sandy: Honey, when will you come?

Brad: I will be working late today. I have a surgery to attend. I will come tomorrow morning.

Sandy: It's okay,honey.I also wanted to tell you that my sisters are coming to stay over so if you don't mind,could you sleep at Jonathan's tonight.

Brad: It's alright. I don't need to stay at my brother's place tonight. Just thank god,I am busy with work today. Good night.

Sandy: Night.

His car was parked just a bit away from his house.There was no sign of light or music because that's what happens when her sisters usually comes over.

Bradley knew what it was but he always walked away from the truth but tonight. He walked out of the car and walked to his house.The door was open which let him in.

In the silent night, he could hear the bed cracking noises and the loud sound of two people moaning in the bedroom, following by the sound of flesh clapping.

He gulped and placed his hand on the bedroom door.

The door clicked as it opened. He stood there like a strongest man,staring deeply at his wife with another man.

"Honey!" Sandy covered her chest with the duvet. She ran towards Bradley and grabbed his hands.

"It's nothing." She cried.

"It's nothing?! You said he was nothing! You said he was just an old friend! You expected me to turn a blind eye towards everything?!" Bradley yelled.

"You played with me Sandy! You deserve to go to hell!" Bradley spat out.

"Honey,please let me explain!"

"Explain? You are naked on the bed with another guy and you are asking me to let you explain! Goddamn it! Stay with him! You deserve each other! You will get the divorce papers within tomorrow and you have 24 hours to pack your things and get the f**k out of my house!" He turned around.

Despite all the cries and pleas, she looked unfamiliar to him, not like the person he married. For the first time, it felt like he never knew her at all.

Elena POV

This morning was brighter than usual. I grabbed a cup of coffee from the cafeteria and began my day.

Everything seemed off and dull.I thought a lot about what Bradley said.

I wanted to be close to James.I was craving him. I could not even help myself.

Suddenly, the bright clouds were replaced by the darks ones.I was perplexed by the sudden change of weather. Within ten minutes,the entire sky colour changed in dark grey. Although it was day time, it looked like midnight.

I walked into James's ward.He was sitting on the bed with his leg hung down.He looked at me and closed his eyes.

I walked towards his bed and kept my coffee on the table behind. I grabbed his charts to revise it but all of a sudden,he grabbed it away from me.

My lips parted by the sudden shock but before I could even form a word,he dropped to the ground and wrapped his arms around my knees.

"Please Elena please forgive me!" He broke down in tears.

"James get up! What are you doing?" I asked.

"Elena, I am sorry. I- I messed up.You don't deserve to be with a man like me.I don't deserve you but what I can ask for is another chance. " His hands tightened around my legs.

I sighed, looking down at a man begging on his knees to take him back.

I touched his hair and ran my fingers through it,providing him all the comfort he needed.

"Get up." I whispered as I held his body and helped him stand up. He pushed me to the wall and trapped me in his arms.

He cupped my face and leaned closer,pulling me into the deepest kiss.I kissed him back not knowing what the future held for us but this moment, it was ours.Our tears touched each other's faces as an electric feeling rushed through my body.

He tried to open my shirt but I stopped his hands.

"It's enough. We can forget that this happened. It's for the best. " I whispered.

"No,I can't forget you.You are there! You are everywhere! You are in my dreams,you are in my nightmares.In my sleep,I hear your voice. Everything I do, I find you.I am addicted to you and if you leave me I am going to lose my mind." He shivered as he tried hard to pull my shirt.

"James, stop. " I whispered. Obviously, being a man,he had more strength than I had. He rubbed my neck with his lips as he bit hard.

"Oh, James!" I hissed.

"Elena, don't go." He whispered, still caressing his face on my neck while trying to pull my shirt .

"This is s****l assault. " I whispered. He stopped and looked at my chest for a second.

"I am sorry. " He whispered.

"Just go to bed.Sleep.Don't think about me.Good night. " I whispered as I walked out of the room.My heart was about to burst out of my chest.

What was this feeling? How did he make me so weak over him.

My throat felt tight due to the tears until I finally broke down.

Falling to the ground.

Someone handed me a napkin from beside. I raised my head to see who it was.To my surprise, it was Sarah.

"Sarah." I stood up.

"I am so sorry. " I cried.She embraced me when she cried as well.

"I am sorry. All this opened my eyes. I should have known that I am just a nurse and I will never be worthy of Maximilian. " She whispered.

"That's not true. You are a good person. He is not.Even if he agreed to be with you, he would use you and break you. You deserve someone better. " I explained to her.

"You deserve better too,Elena."
