Secret admirer

Julian's pov I knocked at Mr.Green’s cabin door and his husky voice called me inside. Sucking a deep breath, my feet stepped into his cabin only to see him reading a book leaning against the glass window. His white sleeves were rolled up to his arms and his long fingers were pressing a black pen between them. “Good morning, Mr. Green.” My soft tone greeted him. His ocean-blue eyes looked into mine and he closed the book in his hands. “Good morning.” “Are you done with the illustration?” His brow twitched. My steps slowly approached him and a tight smile glinted on my lips. “About that…” “I met with our client and he wants to change it again.” “He? Your client was a female, right?” He rested his left palm on the table and tilted his head slightly. “I'm talking about my new client, Mr.Diaz.” He didn't say anything for ten seconds, then snapped out of the awkward silence. “Take a new client.” “Huh?” My eyes widened. “There's this female author, Melanie.” “You will take care of her.” His voice commanded. “What about Mr.Diaz?” “I will handle him personally.” His long fingers fixed the black tie between his collars. It was a habit of his. “Is there anything else?” My fingers started rubbing each other anxiously. He helped me that night and my lips were yet to thank him. I sucked in a deep breath. “Mr.Green” “Thank you for helping me that night.” “Never mind.” His stiffness answered. “I would like to treat you to dinner since you saved me from that ba*tard…I mean, from Ethan Scott.” He stepped into my space and his face moved closer to mine. “You want to take your boss out for dinner?” The corner of his mouth curved mischievously. “Ahm…just to express my thanks…” “If you don't feel comfortable, it's okay.” “What time?” He inquired. “You're okay with it?” I was quite taken aback by his response. He just smirked. “8 pm after office.” “Okay, Miss.Young.” My feet stepped back, and I slowly walked out of his cabin. Something was strange about Mr.Green, very strange. *** Meanwhile… Kyren's pov Noah set me up on a date with his friend, Sheena. We went to a decent coffee shop but she was way too excited. “So is it true that you never had a girlfriend?” She crossed her hands on the table and leaned forward. My head nodded to her question. “Wow! That's amazing.” She was impressed for some reason. “Why?” My brow twitched. “Every woman wants a man who never had a relationship before, and on top of that, you never even had a hookup!” “Noah told you?” I was embarrassed. “Noah is my very good friend, so he told me everything about you.” She confessed with a smile. Even though it was my first date ever…my mind was somewhere else. To be precise, my thoughts were filled with Joly. What if she comes home late? What if her boss drops her home again? What if Ethan goes after her? I was checking my wristwatch every five seconds like a madman while Sheena was talking about the entire world. “Uhm…Kyren?” “Are you listening?” Her voice pulled me out of my thoughts. “Sheena” I got up from my seat and grabbed my black blazer on the chair's headset. “What happened?” Worry flashed in her eyes. *Sigh “I am sorry, Sheena.” “I am just not ready for dating yet.” My lips told her the truth. She didn't say anything and my feet walked out of the coffee shop quietly. It was very rude of me but leading her on with a false hope would have been even more wrong. . . . Sheena's pov I was offended. He rejected me just like that and my history with rejections never sat well. How could he? I clenched either of my fists in rage. From the moment he entered the coffee shop, my eyes were mesmerized by his gorgeous face. He was perfect. Tall, handsome, less talkative, my type. “I won't let you go this easily, Kyren.” My fingers clutched the transparent hot glass he drank coffee from and my lips kissed the exact spot where the shape of his lips flaked. *** After a formal dinner… Rhett's pov We didn't talk much throughout the dinner, it was more like a business meeting with the two of us. We discussed our clients, that's all. But… She was again in my car and next to me. I never thought it would happen so soon after that night. Julian Reinhart. My eyes first saw her outside the Art & Beyond company. She was playing with a stray cat. I had some urgent business in another building but her beauty and innocence captivated my eyes. Her brown hair was dancing with the wind whereas her wide smile was pure beyond words. The sound of her laughter was music to my ears and my soul became greedy to see her again. Three days later, I took over her company and replaced the previous CEO. It was for her. My real business empire was much larger than a small company like Art & Beyond, but she was my choice. No one in the company knew that my dad was none other than Joseph Green, one of the biggest business tycoons ever and I was his heir next in the line. I never imagined that I would fall for her. Maybe someday she might start seeing me more than her boss. My car stopped in front of her house and she got out in a hurry. Her actions were still awkward in my presence. “Thank you for dropping me home.” I didn't say anything and just watched her approach her door. She pressed the doorbell and a guy opened the door. It wasn't her brother. He has unique red hair and hazel eyes. Kyren Maddox, the CEO of the year. “Brother?” Julian called Kyren her brother. His hazel eyes were blazing through my chest as if he was vengeful. Julian noticed the murderous look in his eyes and turned her head to me. “Oh my God!” She pushed him inside and closed the door with an embarrassing smile on her plump lips. What is her relationship with Kyren? Why the f*ck was he glaring at me?
