Frustrated

Julian's pov His red hair matted on his forehead as if he had just come out of the shower, and his hazel eyes, which always appeared to be charming…were somewhat cold. “Who was that guy?” He twitched a brow. “He was my boss, Rhett Green.” My lips told him the truth. Kyren had been protective of me ever since we met. He was more concerned than Noah most of the time. At some point, it started to feel like I was a kid and he was my babysitter. Even after four years of distance, his protective mode was the same as before. Some habits never change. “Why did he drop you home in his car?” *Sigh “You don't have to know everything, brother.” My soft tone mumbled and he sealed his mouth with silence. “Just know that I am not involved with any man right now…because as you’re aware my taste in men s*cks!” He stepped into my space, tilted his head, and his hands went inside his pants' front pockets. We were only inches apart from each other. My breath was stuck in my throat. Kyren would maintain a safe distance from me whenever we hung out together. Even four years ago when I proposed to him and moved a little closer, his feet stepped back without thinking twice. Then why was he breaking his rule? “You always say your taste in men s*cks…by any chance, my little sister is taunting me?” He got the hint. “What? Of course not.” “I was talking about the guy I slept with.” “He was an a*s!” “You have nothing to do with my comment, brother.” My lips flashed a forced smile. His eyes were still clouded with suspicion. “If you're afraid to go home alone, then give me a call, and I will pick you u,p, but don't take a lift from any stranger.” “Mr. Green is not a stranger.” My sharp tongue interrupted. Kyren Maddox had no right to interfere with my life. The day he chose to cut off every contact between us…was also the day my feelings died for him. He was just a tenant for me. Silence replenished in the air and the weather turned unpleasant. “Goodnight, brother.” Having said that, my steps walked past his presence, straight to the bedroom. *** Later that night… Noah's pov Kyren was drinking in a grumpy mood and wouldn't even tell me the reason. However, my life wasn't going well either. My fourth girlfriend cheated on me with a bartender and I was afraid the other three would do the same. Life was hard. He was sitting on the couch whereas I was perched on the white fur mattress. We both were having whiskey and smoking the new menthol flavor. “Hey!” His deep voice broke the silence. “What is it?” My brows furrowed. He glared into my innocent eyes. “Shouldn't you pay more attention to your little sister?” Words came out of his mouth in slight rage. “Why? Did she do something?” “Her boss dropped her home tonight in his black car.” “What's wrong with it?” I was confused. “She's a kid…she doesn't understand the world, and men are wolves!” “Just because her mouth can talk back now doesn't mean she’s not naive. The world is a dangerous place.” “You need to talk to her.” His finger thumped on my chest as he muttered the words in his drunken voice. “Restrict every man from coming within a ten-meter radius of her.” “Have you gone crazy?” My eyes widened. “I understand you're protective of my sister but this is too much. Also, she needs to find a man for herself and Tris.” He slammed his whiskey glass on the table and startled my soul. “What?” My voice raised. “Nothing. I'm just not feeling good.” He answered in a stressful tone. My lips sucked in a breath. “I know what's going on with you.” He widened his eyes slightly. “Really? What's wrong?” My right palm grabbed his thigh and a smirk arose on the corner of my mouth. “You're s*xually frustrated!” He started coughing. “I bet you're still a virgin.” He tried his best to avoid my gaze but my sharp eyes could easily read his face. “You need to get laid.” “What the f*ck are you talking about?” He was annoyed. Even though we were best friends, we were opposite of each other. I never lacked girls in my life and Kyren never had a girl in his life. He was only focused on his career and now he was 29 and s*xually frustrated. My best friend needed my help. His soul was so frustrated to the point that even tiny things were bothering him. For example, he was growing way too protective of Joly. Also, taking out his anger on me for some reason. My sister wasn't a kid anymore. She was a 22-year-old single mom. I guess things would be solved once he breaks free from his virgin life. “Let me set you up with a hot girl.” “No, thanks!” He refused. “This is high time for you to lose your virginity and start dating.” My words pressurized him. He rolled his eyes sarcastically. “Are you perhaps gay?” My brow twitched. “Shut up!” His voice growled. “Then what's the problem?” “I never gave it a thought.” He confessed. His handsome face was such a waste. Women would kill themselves to be with him and he was leading a boring life. How could he be my best friend? “Kyren” “I was very angry when you broke contact with me. I even decided to not see your face ever again.” “It took me a long time to accept the truth that my best friend abandoned our friendship.” “When you called two weeks ago, I was shocked. There was so much to say but my lips couldn't say it.” “I was just happy.” His gaze softened on my face. “Since you broke my heart…take responsibility for it, and listen to my one request.” “Ugh…what request?” “Go on a date with Sheena.” “Sheena?” His brow twitched. “She's my good friend, always coming to my basketball matches, and she's very pretty.”
