Thomas' mouth dropped open learning that I had money. I mean I am not a billionare, but I have enough to retire early.
It's coming up on the weekend so I booked a flight to Port Bellows via private jet.
With luck we will be back after the new Year, since technically our winter break is still ongoing.
Thomas was silent in the car to the airport.
" How come you are my coach when you can do anything you want?
I mean...if I had your kind of money, I would be in Fiji or someplace exotic." Thomas admitted.
" My grandmother told me to do something with myself that I would enjoy whole-heartedly.
I'm good at coaching and I love football. I mean, my dad worked in corporate all his life. He never seemed happy to me. I'm happy."
" I get it, but don't you want to be like on an island somewhere?" he grinned.
" I think that sounds really good right now, but...I have some things I have to do in life first.
I have a philanthropic mission to fulfill. When I'm ready, I will take over my grandmother's foundations.
For now, they are well cared for by my mother. My grandmother was her mom.
Fuck how she hated my father, after his affairs and second marraige.
He doesn't even know she was rich. We chose not to tell him.
My brother got the other half of the inheritance. My mother received the estates and has her own money from my granfather's inheritance.
When he passed, grandma built his wealth with strategic investments and wise counsel. So, it felt like an F.U. to dad. He deserved it."
Thomas shook his head as he spoke about his family.
"Wow. My dad is like my best friend and my sister, we're pretty tight. After the attack, my sister hasn't really left home.
It was all over the news a few years ago. Her leg was broken and she has a head injury." He looked at his open hands as if in a trance.
" Don't tell me if you don't want to, I get it." I put my hand on his arm.
" A guy went on a rampage running down civilians with his truck.
They called it an act of terrorism. She was just crossing the street. Innocent." He said as he shook his head.
" The guy got 30 years, he wasn't even harmed?" he said solemnly.
" Sorry man." I put on my seat belt as we began to taxi for take off.
"I better try to call Calvin before we take off." Thomas said.
Calvin gave him his number when he thought they were getting married.
Andrea Holmes answered the phone.
" Hello?"
" Excuse me, I'm looking for January, my name is Thomas Hamilton, she left school suddenly and I'm very concerned about her well being."
" Oh? Are you a friend of my daughter's, I'm Andrea Holmes."
" I am a very good friend of your daughters. I am afraid her ex-Adam has her and I'm fearful of his intentions towards her."
" Oh my, Adam is engaged to April, I'm pretty sure he has no intentions towards my daughter January, she's...how do I put this? She's troubled.
I mean she doesn't do well with relationships, never has. I'm sure it's all a misunderstanding.
When April gets home, I will have her and Adam call you.
She went to visit him at his office in New York, she should return any day now."
" Maam, you don't understand, Adam came here to Greenmire college and took January with him. He said he wanted her back.
Is your husband there?"
" I'm sorry? What the hell did you just say? Adam took January? Oh no! My poor poor April. This will devastate my daughter." she cried.
" What, you know you have two daughters right? Shouldn't you be more concerned with January right now?" he was seething.
" I can't talk to you anymore, I need to find my baby. Poor April." She ended the call.
I saw Thomas frowning as he shook his head.
" She only has us now. We will be enough for her." He said.
I asked for a pilsner and a second one for Thomas.
My mind was racing with where he could have taken her.
" Maybe they went to New York if he has an office there?" I wondered.
We were no longer able to use our phones as we were nearing 30,000 feet.
I drank another beer as Thomas took my hand.
" You know we got eachother too right bro?" he said, giving my hand a quick squeeze then releasing it as it was a little awkward.
I nodded and put my hand on his shoulder.

Adam POV
I slept better than I had in weeks. I couldn't believe Jan let me make love to her last night.
I wanted to sleep with her in my bed, but she was right. She needed time.
Still, feeling her moist little p***y was even better than how I had imagined it.
Smelling her scent on her sister and f*****g April in Jan's bed had only sparked this deep longing inside of me to make things right with Jan.
I used the excuse to rescue her from the snowstorm, but in truth I hadn't even told April I had left, she would have tried to stop me.
I stretched my arms as my erection levitated in my pajama pants. I need to see my girl.
Pulling off the covers, I sat up, deciding to order room service for us. Jan would need her coffee, so I paid extra to have a large soy latte delivered.
Might as well order flowers. I recall Jan loved pink roses. I ordered two dozen of them.
That should be a good start.
Looking at myself in the mirror I groaned. My face was black and blue. Those f***s ganged up on me. But, Jan is worth it.
Plus, she will feel sorry for me.
She is the nicest girl. So sweet.
Now that she is isolated from her family, I'm all she needs.
I picked up my phone and wired the first of several large deposits into Calvin's bank account. He handed over his account numbers pretty quickly once he learned that I was compensating him for his youngest girl.
Selling her out, broke my baby's heart. That was exactly what I wanted.
I better get showered. The food will be here soon.
I undressed and stepped into the shower. When I finished my phone was ringing. Calvin Holmes. He must have gotten the money.
" I changed my mind, I want to see my daughter. I can't do this to her. Please Adam I'm waiting in the lobby. Tell me she will see me?" he groveled.
"Calvin, Calvin, Calvin. I'm pretty sure Jan won't see you. She's pretty upset at your betrayal. I think she will need some time."
" Please Adam, have pitty on me. Make her understand. I am such a fool." He cried.
" Go away Calvin. You got your money. What's done is done." I hung up on him. Stupid i***t.
There was a loud knock on the door ten minutes later.
Jan's bedroom door was still closed.
" Baby, breakfast!" I knocked lightly on her door.
The knocking on the front door grew louder, I could hear Calvin yelling.
" January!" He cried.
I smiled.
" Stay in your room baby, I'll get rid of him." I threw the door open, Calvin ran inside in a panick.
"Let me see my daughter!" He yelled, as he pushed to get past me.
I grabbed his collar and swung him around, tossing him out the door.
" If you leave her alone, I'll deposit 5 million in your account by noon, agree?" I knew bribery would make him see reason.
" 5 million?" he said looking past me into the room.
" 6 million." I ammended. "But you leave town."
Not surprisingly, Calvin conceded.
