The Abused Mate

Chapter five waking up scared

Trish's P.O.V 

  I slept through the whole night, but when I woke I was startled to see I was in a strange room. I looked over at the clock and saw the time.

  "Oh s**t. I'm going to be in so much trouble." I panicked, rushing to get out of bed and take a quick shower. The Alpha is going to beat me because I'm late making his and the packs breakfast, I thought to myself and quickly got dressed, putting on my sweats as I didn't have any other clothes here. I rushed out the room, down the stairs and towards the kitchen. When I finally found it, I entered and stopped dead in my tracks, there was already someone doing the cooking.

  "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been late. Do you need help?" I said, panicking and rolling my sleeves up to help. The woman turned, looking at me confused. The woman opened her mouth to speak, just as David's mother walked in.

  "It's ok Ruby, she's my son's mate." David's mother said and Ruby nodded, carrying on with the cooking.

  "I'm sorry for coming down so late, if Ruby needs help cooking, I'll help her if she wants me to." I said, turning to look at the 5.3 woman with long black hair and yellow eyes, her voice was as soft as a songbirds. David's mom took me by the hand and walked me into the living room, gesturing for me to sit down next to her on the couch.

  "Listen to me Trish, we do things differently here in this pack. The first one up, cooks breakfast. Ruby is our pack member what we call an Omega, she doesn't have to cook, we all take turns and help each other in this house, we all clean, wash clothes and do our part." David's mom said and I nodded.

  "So I'm not in trouble?" I asked her, but she just looked at me confused.Sandy looked confused, 

  "Why would you be in trouble? You don't get into trouble unless one of the rules gets broken." David's mom replied.

  "What are the rules here?" I curiously asked.

  "There are only four rules and they are simple. Number one, help each other. Number two, do not harm another pack member if you have a problem come to either me or the King and we will both solve it. Number three, if any time there is a war, we all go to war, the children and mother's to be will hide. Number four, everyone trains, everyone must learn to fight, whether you're a vampire or werewolf you must learn." David's mom said, reeling off the rules. I nodded, they seemed simple enough to remember and stick to, just then David came rushing down the stairs and almost tripped on the last step. David's mom and I both looked at him and started laughing.

  "Hey don't laugh I smelled bacon." David said, defensively.

  "Did David tell you, his father is a vampire and I'm a she-wolf, it's the reason why we call our family a pack coven. You see David is what we call a lycan, he's part vampire part werewolf, he can eat food or blood." David's mom said, turning her gaze back to me. 

 "I rather eat food, blood is just nasty. I'm glad mom decided to tell you about us, I was going to tell you this morning but she beat me to it." David said and chuckled softly. I nodded and smiled.

  "So when you bite me, I'll be some sort of a lycan, half vampire half wolf, but I can also eat food. Sounds interesting, but will I be able to control the vampire side?" I asked and they both nodded.

  "With a little training, yes you will be able to. Some when they are turned they don't want to learn, they go rogue and we have to destroy them. I know it's harsh to say, but we can't let them go out in the world killing others." David's mom spoke first.

  "I understand, it's better to lay them to rest, than go out in this world hurting others." I responded, it made sense to me.

  "Okay, we need to take you shopping, you can't just wear these sweats forever. David honey, take her back upstairs, Sandra has placed a pair of jeans and a shirt for you to wear. I'll tell your father that we will be out for a few hours." David's mom said, both of us standing up and leaving the living room. David and I walked back upstairs to his room, he shut the bedroom door behind us and grabbed me, pulling me close to him and kissing me softly. My whole body felt sparks shooting through me. 

  "I don't want to rush you into anything, I know you've been through so much already, I don't want to scare you." David said, breaking away from our kiss.

  "You….scare me?" I giggled, playfully rolling my eyes. He poked my cheek and I started to laugh, it felt good to laugh and I was starting to like it, he pulled me close again, resting his forehead on mine.

 "Mom warned me about this, talking so fast, I feel like my heart is beating faster. Trish you are my forever, I'll wait a million years if I need to, but if I don't let you get ready my mom will kick my butt." David sighed, smiling.

  "Okay, by the way what is your moms name?" I asked him, after all I couldn't keep calling her David's mom.

  "It's Sandy." David replied, kissing my cheek and I walked to the bathroom to change. I put on the sandals that were given to me, brushed my hair putting it in a messy Bun and walked out of the bathroom to see David, sitting at his desk doing his homework.

  "I like to do it early, so my Saturdays are free." He said, grinning at me. He got up from his chair, walked towards me and took my hand in his.

  "Buy whatever you want." David said, placing a black card in my hand. 

  "But I can't, I don't have the money to pay you back. I wasn't allowed to work and what money I did have got taken away." I said, looking at him and the card wide eyed.

  "Trish you don't have to pay me back, you are my mate. Go have fun, don't be scared you won't be punished." David sighed, cupping my cheek with his hand.

  "I'll try, I'm still not used to all this, for years all I have ever known was what I was put through." I said, slightly embarrassed.

  "Maybe when you get back if you're up for it you can tell me about it, until then go have fun, mom is mind-linking me telling me that if I don't let you downstairs she's going to come up here and lock me in the bathroom." David said, causing both of us to chuckle, I kissed his cheek and headed downstairs. The vampire King was waiting with Sandy at the bottom of the stairs, I gulped, not sure how to feel about meeting him. When I got down to the last step, he held out his hand for me.  

  "It's a pleasure to meet you Trish, my name is Kaun. My son has talked nonstop about you since the first day he met you. Don't be scared, I won't harm you. Here give me that card, I took it on myself to get you a card." The vampire King Kaun said and my bright silver eyes went huge.

  "But...but... I don't have any money to pay you back sir." I stuttered and he chuckled softly. 

  "Trish my little one you are my family now, don't worry, all you have to do is finish school, that's how you will pay me back. The Alpha King knows everything you have been put through and there is no need to fear anything, you are free to roam from around here without any fear. Now go and have fun, my wife is eager to go shopping." Kaun said, reassuring me.

"Yes sir." I replied, Sandy took me by the hand, leading me outside to a huge SUV. Three guards were waiting for us, two in the front and one in the back, they opened the door for us to get in and off we went.
