Chapter 16 welcome to our kingdom

Skyler's P.O.V 

  I left Mandy lying in bed and went to go and call Sandy, letting her know everything that had happened since we last spoke.

  "As soon as she wakes up, we will be there. I'm bringing her with us so you can talk to her. It seems that no one wants to be in that pack, well the females definitely don't." I said, filling Sandy in.

  "I know exactly what you mean, we have a new member to our family and she's Gary's mate. Ok I'll see you soon Skyler, take care." Sandy replied, I hung up the phone and made my way back to Mandy's room, just as she woke up. Mandy sat up looking around the room and then to her arm, where the I.V was sticking out. She was clearly shaken and scared by her surroundings, she was so scared that she was trembling and quickly jerked the I.V out of her arm, startling me.

  "Mandy, Mandy, honey hold on, it's ok, you're safe now. No one is here to hurt you, it's ok. You're here with us." I said, slowly walking towards her, as not to scare her anymore than she already was. Mandy stopped looking around the room and her eyes landed on me, letting out a sigh of relief.

  "I'm sorry, I heard you on the phone and I thought you were taking me back to them." Mandy said and I shook my head no, now understanding the situation. 

  "No, there is no way that we're taking you back there. I was talking to the Queen of vampires Sandy, I was letting her know about you and I told her that as soon as you woke up, we were coming, so you can talk to her." I explained, just then Seth walked into the room with one of the guards Josh. 

  "MINE!" Josh growled, taking one look at Mandy, causing her eyes to grow as wide as saucers.

  Mandy's P.O.V 

  "I'm not ready for this, I just escaped from the Red Devil's pack. Please just give me some time please." I said, holding my hands out in front of me. I couldn't help looking deep into his chocolate brown eyes, but I couldn't tell what colour hair he had because of the helmet he had on his head. It was like he had read my mind, as he took off the helmet and walked forward, bending down on one knee and taking my hand gently into his. 

  "My name is Josh, take all the time you need, I was already told what happened to you and I'll kill whoever tries to hurt you." Josh said, I softly smiled at him, still a bit nervous. 

  "Thank you, I've never had a mate." I replied, my eyes went to his hair and it was a little dirty from the helmet, but it was beautiful. He had shoulder length blonde hair and I could get lost in those chocolate brown eyes of his. I was always told about the mate bond and how it was like there was no other, but that person, there was no divorce, they worked through everything. The time that they were apart was like hell on earth, like if they had to work or if the other died and then the other isn't far behind. I immediately felt this, it felt like the mate bond was pulling me towards Josh. 

  "You are a kind man, just please give me a little time, that's all I ask." I said, smiling at him and he nodded.

  "It will be my honour to wait for you my mate." Josh said, causing me to blush a deep red, when he called me his mate. Skyler walked forward and took my arm, wrapping a bandage around it from where I had pulled out the I.V. and taped it in place. I stood up on very shaky legs and almost fell, but Josh caught me, much to my surprise, I inhaled his scent and it made my wolf feel excited for the first time in years.

  "So, When are we heading to the vampire King?" I said, quickly turning to face Skyler. 

  "If you're well rested, we can go now. Our pack is waiting outside." Seth said and I nodded.

  "Well I'm ready to go, there's a lot I need to tell the king and queen." I said, before looking down at the hospital gown I was in and Skyler laughed, handing me some clothes.

  "I thought you might be needing these." Skyler said, still laughing, as the men turned their backs and walked out of the room, giving me some privacy. I was still a bit sore and weak from everything that had happened and so Skyler helped me get dressed.

  "Are you sure you are ready for this." Skyler asked me, her voice full of concern.

  "Yes, I think it's just from lying in bed for so long and not using my muscles. I need to do this. I want to do this." I replied, standing up straight and looking her in the eyes to reassure her, she nodded and we walked out the room and outside to meet back up with Seth and Josh. I stood there in both shock and amazement as I looked out at the pack in front of me, there was a mixture of both wolves and bears here.

  "WOW!" I said, then realisation hit me. What was Josh?

  "Are you a wolf or a bear?" I asked him, causing him to chuckle. 

  "I'm a bear, you will get to see him soon, he's already growling with excitement because we found our mate." Josh said, looking down at me and smiling. 

  "I can't wait to meet him, I'm sure he is just as handsome as you are." I replied, grinning and it was his turn to blush, as he put his helmet back on his head.

  "Are you a warrior or a guard?" I asked him and he again grinned at me.

  "I'm both." Josh replied, I felt amazed by him, he was very charming, but he could probably be a beast when fighting. We all went on our way, heading to the vampire king's territory and it was a long ride, at least a few hours drive, but it took a little longer when you have to stop for gas, food and bathroom breaks. When we finally arrived there was a huge iron gate with five guards, two of the guards opened the iron gates and one guard spoke briefly with Seth, then shook his hand and let us drive through. There was still a little ways to go, as we went down a long dirt road that seemed to go on forever, but it was beautiful and there were trees everywhere. I watched the birds flying, hawks diving down to catch the field mice and deer on the side of the road eating the grass, there were even rabbits hopping around, trying to get out of the way. After another twenty minutes of driving we finally made it to the castle entrance, where there were quite a few people waiting for us. We had a line of twenty five black SUV's in our entourage, so it took us a while to all drive and park up. Everyone got out of the cars all together and it was a sight to behold, wolves, bears and vampires all working together and friendly. Seth and Skyler walked over to who I assumed to be the vampire King and bowed down to him and his wife. Seth and Skyler straightened up and to my surprise the vampire King and Queen pulled them into a hug, smiling and laughing with them. 

  Kaun's P.O.V 

  I was so pleased by the arrival of Seth and Skyler, they were such good friends and Skyler really helped Trish out as well. I couldn't help bringing them into a hug, to show my appreciation and how much I had missed them.

  "Welcome my friends, it's nice to have you all here. The Alpha King will be here tomorrow, so if everyone please follow me I'll show you to your rooms. We have cabins at the back so if you would prefer to stay in them you are more than welcome to." I announced, they nodded and some of the pack members walked to the back to look at the cabins. 

  "This will be perfect for us, we'll gladly stay here." Some of the pack members said, I nodded and escorted the rest into the castle, showing them to their rooms and after a couple of hours everyone had finally settled in and I returned to the living room, where Sandy, David, Trish, Seth, Skyler and two others were sitting. A few minutes later Rachel and Gary walked into the living room.

  "So let me begin with introductions, this is Rachel, she is Gary's mate." Sandy said, smiling warmly, Seth and Skyler both welcomed her.

  "This is Josh, he is a guard and warrior and this is his mate Mandy. She is the one I told you about." Skyler said, Sandy stood up and immediately brought Mandy into a hug, causing all of us to chuckle at Mandy's surprised look. Sandy pulled away and then joined me back on one of the live seats, Sandy still smiling her motherly smile.

  "Mandy honey, why don't you tell us your story. What brought you to Skyler's pack?" Sandy said, she nodded and began to talk.

  "My family died because of the Red Devil pack. Alpha Greg told them to either join him or be killed and they died. I tried to run, but they caught me after a few minutes and made me their slave, cooking, cleaning, washing their clothes and cleaning out the toilets. Greg wanted me in his room, I didn't want to go, but he made me and had his way with me, forcing me. He pushed me away and told me to go clean myself up and then come back, so I took my chance and ran away. I didn't know I was in Skyler's territory until she came forward, but enough about me." Mandy said, wiping her eyes and swallowing a large gulp, looking around at each of us. 

  "Greg will be attacking in a few weeks time, that's next month and he has over nine hundred. I'm not sure how strong they are, but some are and he wants to take your throne. He is more determined than ever to take it." Mandy said, but I couldn't help the slight laugh that escaped my lips. 

  "Does this young pup understand what it takes to be king, it's a lot of responsibility, he thinks it's easy to run a pack, but it's a lot different when you are king." I said, they all nodded and just then my cell started going off.

  "Hello Kaun, change of plans, I'm not going to be there in two days, I'll be arriving earlier. I'll be there tomorrow, I hope you have a lot of room, I'm bringing my strongest warriors. I'll see you soon old friend." Logan said, not giving me time to answer before he hung up, causing me to chuckle. He never was good at talking on the phone. I looked up at everyone while putting the phone back in my pocket.

  "Well, it's not going to be two days for the alpha king to be here, he will be here tomorrow." I explained and they all looked at me. 

  "He asked something about having room for his strongest warriors." I said, looking at Sandy 

  "We have room, this is going to be a sight to see." Sandy replied, smiling brightly, although I knew it was the thought of seeing Layla again and going shopping with her.
