So, let's have a conversation about this new wolf. I am still currently standing in the throne room while my sister is still processing Tara's comment. I realized that she thinks Tau is a dragon hunter. I wasn't sure how I was gonna explain to her that he wasn't.
"You are a dragon borne?" My sister asked. I could see her head turned to the side as she was listening to Akasa and making her judgment.
"I am." Tara groaned. She was eyeing everything in the room. I had the feeling she was gonna run. I don't know why but I could feel it strongly in my chest.
"Why do you want to run?" My sister asked her bluntly. She was never someone to beat around the bush.
"Your hunter will kill me when you aren't looking." Tara nodded toward Tau.
My sister's laugh was soft at first before gaining stride and becoming loud and boisterous. "He wouldn't." Jewel continued to laugh. "He is my mate, and I am his dragon borne." To emphasize her point she wrapped her arms around Tau before pulling him down for one toe-curling kiss.
"You're a dragon borne?" Tara stalled out but the omission of my sister and the PDA display.
"I am." My sister's eye danced with merriment, and a hint of things to come later for Tau. "Come with me." Not giving Tara any chance to say no, she hooked arms with her and dragged her from the hall. Tau and I fell to step behind them.
"She was in blood lust earlier," I mentioned off handily to Tau.
"Jewel will stop anything she could do," Tau said softly. He glanced at me and winked.
I knew my sister had been gifted not to be harmed in a battle by the Goddess Lilith. also she was the first. Her wolf Akasa was the twin of our uncle Cacodemon. There was no way Tara's wolf could be stronger. We followed them to our private training grounds. As soon as they got on the field Akasa was outstanding over the top of Tara's head. Akasa was giving off playful excitement.
Tara, I noticed just looked up my sister's wolf. Stepping back some, she too shimmered into the wolf I had seen before. That wolf came to Akasa's shoulder. The fangs on both curled out some but again Akasa's was bigger. Tara's wolf eyed Akasa before bowing low. There was a silent exchange between the two of them.
Both Tau and I stayed silent and remained watchful. While they did their thing. Soon they were running around the grounds. Each trying to knock the other down by surprise. Only Akasa seemed to be halfway trying. Tara looked like she was putting in the effort for it.
"What is going on?" Tau glanced at me. He was a griffin and there were some things in the werewolf world he didn't know much about.
"They are testing each other." I kept my eyes forward on the scene to make sure I didn't miss anything. "Wolves, powerful ones do this to see who is the most powerful without shedding blood." My eyes are still forward and watching intently.
"I see, she is letting the child gain an understanding without injuring her in any way." Tau nodded.
This playful duel lasted another five minutes. I could see that Tara was understanding why Jewel was Queen. I watched as Tara's wolf tried to sneak toward her. It didn't last long. Akasa pinned her on her back and then jumped off to playfully bounce around like it was no more than a mere game.
"Akasa asserted her dominance just in the way she should for such a young wolf," I spoke softly to Tau.
Tau nodded quietly and watched Jewel and Tara play a bit more. I relaxed as far as I was concerned this event was done. Tau turned to look behind me, I followed his gaze to see Shaman, Athens, and a very bloody Cacodemon coming through the gate.
"Had a bit of fun did you, Uncle?" I quipped as I stepped to the side so they could be next to us.
Cacodemon dropped the head out of his mouth. "Indeed. How is the pup?" His red eyes glance out at the scene below of Akasa and Tara's wolf playing.
"It seems, Jewel has found a way to link up with Tara." Shaman seemed proud of what he was seeing.
"She assumed Tau was a dragon hunter," I mentioned.
All three men threw their heads back with chuckling. Hearing Cacodemon giggle was beyond creepy. It was like the scary little ghost girls and stuff. That got the attention of the girls below. Akasa became Jewel and Tara followed Jewel back to human form.
They came up the hill, Tara eyed Cacodemon and then looked back at Jewel. Jewel said something to her, then stepped forward glancing at the head on the ground. "Who was that?" I watched her ask. There was no emotion in her words.
Tara came to stand next to her. "Alpha Hagan?" She whispered as she looked up at all three men, though her gaze landed fully on our uncle.
"Was him yes?" Cacodemon answered. "You need not worry about him anymore." He added with a huff, batting the head around with his paw.
"Those other men, the ones who were around while you were chained are also where that dismissed Alpha went." Athens smacked his lips. you could see blood splashes on his shirt and pants. Though nothing like the amount of blood that covered Cacodemon.
"Go shower Uncle," Jewel spoke with a smirk. "I doubt Amber or my mother needs to be aware of this."
Cacodemon picked up the head and tossed it at Athens. Who caught with a grin. "For my wall." Athens left a tinkle of mirth on the air.
Shaman walked to Tara, "are you doing better?"
"I am, I think I will be ok here." She glanced at the rest of us before placing her icy blue gaze back to Shaman.
"Good," Shaman sighed before he looked at Jewel. "Does she have any rooms assigned yet?
" She does, and I made sure to get her in classes." Jewel, slid quietly into Tau's arms.
"Perfect, thank you." Shaman looked back down to Tara.
"Glad to help, I will get you into the pack tomorrow." Jewel smiled at her before nodding to me and walking back with Tau.
