“Happy birthday Ariana.” I handed over the little present I got for her.
“Thanks so much, Emily. I didn’t think you’d make it but I’m really glad that you considered me and decided to show up.” She said with a smile on her face as she collected the little present I bought for her.
I’m not a fan of parties but recently I’ve been attending one or two. I didn’t have worries when I decided to attend this party simply because of what my last party made me experience and I didn’t want to experience it now.
“Glad you made it.” Mira appeared in front of me with a bright smile on her face.
“I didn’t want to but Ariana wanted me to but I won’t be staying for long,” I replied.
“Guess what?” Mira said as she pulled me closer to her.
“What?” I questioned inquisitively.
“Rafael is here.” She whispered as she stylishly pointed towards the direction he was seated.
I felt my heart skipped the moment my eyes landed on him where he was calmly seated. Ever since I laid my eyes on Rafael, I have always liked him.
He was like an angel in disguise. Rafael is enigmatic yet I was drawn to him. The day I almost lost my life, he came to my rescue and it felt as if an angel came from heaven to save me.
I was too stunned by his looks and lost, especially his mesmerizing grey eyes. When I heard him speak for the first time, I shivered. I was so stunned to speak that I ended up not knowing what to say and stuttered until he walked away.
The first time I shared a class with him, I lost focus and concentrated on him. I went after him to appreciate him for what he had done when he saved my life and he didn’t say much before he left.
I’m not usually one to throw myself on someone but I’ve always been the one making the first move each time we come across each other. Although he doesn’t say many words to me, he does acknowledge my greetings.
Everyone on campus knows Rafael to be the hottest man alive and lots of girls have been wanting to be on the same bed with him. For someone as handsome as him, you’d expect him to take advantage of the situation and bed any girl he wants but he doesn’t do any of that.
He’s always in class, does what he has to do, and stays away from the crowd so seeing him here made me wonder why he had decided to attend Ariana's birthday party.
Mira and I made our way to him and it made me wonder why we were walking in his direction until I averted my eyes toward the person he was seated beside
Besides Sabrina who is always around Rafael, the other person that is seen around him is Josh.
They didn’t hand around but Josh was close to him.
The moment Mira and I got to them, Rafael lifted his face and our eyes met. I quickly looked away not wanting to get drowned in those beautiful eyes of his.
Although I looked away, I could feel his hot gaze on me.
Josh pulled Mira towards him and made her sit on his lap while I sat down a little close to them but kept a distance at the same time.
Everyone seemed to be enjoying the party and I was enjoying watching everyone at the party until I felt the urge to pee and made my way around the club to look for the restroom.
I forced myself through the crowd and sweaty bodies. Everyone seemed to have enough alcohol in their system while I, on the other hand, couldn’t wait to leave so that I could focus on myself and also the new project I had taken.
Thinking about my project only reminded me that I had accepted Professor Dylan’s help and accepting his help meant I was allowing a living werewolf close to me.
I couldn’t believe I accepted it but I did and I hope it doesn’t turn out bad and I don’t end up regretting it.
I entered the restroom and eased myself. I came out to rinse my hand and the lights went off.
I looked around before bringing out my phone from my purse to switch on my flashlight. I began to find my way out of the restroom. When I came out, it seemed the lights went out in the whole room.
I started to have cryptic feelings about the whole thing and I’m suddenly reminded of what happened the last time I went to a party and my heart skipped.
I hope it doesn’t turn out to be that night and I’m just worried for nothing. I could no longer hear the loud club music and everywhere was silent. I began to worry.
I began to have a bad feeling in the pit of my gut and at that moment, all I could think of was leaving that place and going home.
I decided to text Mira and ask where she was and to inform her that I was leaving.
By the time I was done doing that, I decided to look forward and find the next direction to take but suddenly I got confused.
I face-palmed myself with a racing heart as I thought of where to go next when I felt someone run past me.
I felt my heart drop. I didn’t know when tears began to stream down my cheek as I ran away. I didn’t know exactly where I was running to but I knew I had to run and before I knew it? I felt someone hold me from behind and I screamed.
The person was standing behind me and I felt their hot breath fawn over my shoulder.
“Please don’t hurt me.” I cried out.
I felt the person let go of me and I decided to look at who it was, the moment I did, my eyes budged out.
Before I could comprehend anything, I watched as blood dripped at the of his lips and he made movements towards me.
And I screamed! I was expecting him to feed on me but it never happened.
I slowly opened my eyes with my legs shaking and my heart beating hard in my chest to as the person who had tried to feed on me fighting with someone familiar.
I was shaking that I couldn’t move so I stood there watching both me move fast and fight each other until the familiar male figure knocked the other person out.
Slowly the familiar figure turned to face me revealing himself and he was none other than Rafael.
Damn! Just who is he? I mentally thought to myself.
