Nathan’s P.O.V.

I was sitting in my class but my mind was continuously drifting over the conversation that I and William had with our fathers in the morning. Something went wrong in one of our deals and they want either me or William to attend the meeting with someone from the other side. It was clear that this deal was off the radar. Both I and William didn’t want to be involved in that sh*tty part of our businesses but according to our fathers, it was important and one must have to attend this deal.

Soon the bell rang and I came out of my stance. I sighed and took my book and put back in my bag pack and went out of the room. I had no mood to attend the rest of my classes. I didn’t want to get involved in the darker part of my father’s business so did William but I didn’t know why they wanted us to attend.

“Heading out”, I heard William’s voice and looked behind. He was also coming behind me and I guessed both of us were going to skip our classes today. “Yeah… I am in no mood”, I said and he hummed while walking beside me. “Let’s go to my apartment”, he said and I nodded. We were about to cross the corridor when a shrilled voice of an annoying female made us stopped in our way.

“Long time no see, babe? I thought that you forgot me”, Tesla came towards us with her minions while having a satisfied smirk on her face. She had worn a tight small dress that was barely covering her assets. I just hate that girl and after what she did with poor Pamela, I hated her through my guts.

She tried to hold William arm but he immediately yanked off her hands with a jerk that took her off guard. “What do you want, Tesla?” William asked bitterly and she faked sighed. “I guess that you are not willing to give me what I want, William… but you know very well that I always get what I want, right?” she curled a strand of her hair around her hair while looking at William evilly.

Both I and William scoffed while looking away from them. “You know what, Tesla??? F**k off…. You are not getting anything from me”, William spat and she widened her eyes in fake surprise. “O my my, William… hold a bit babe…. You will not say this after watching this”, she showed a fake smile and I wanted to smack her badly at the back of her head so that she could get a clear picture that William was no longer interested in her.

William again scoffed and looked at me and I clicked my tongue. I guessed she didn’t have any idea about what happened with her phone. “Watching what?” William asked and she looked at her minions and then at us with a winning look at her face. I pursed my lips to suppress my laughter because soon she was going to be super mad.

She opened her phone and then her expressions started changing from confusion to shock and then to anger. “What the hell???? Where is the video?” she yelled at her minions who were looking at her dumbstruck. “What video, Tesla?” William asked her in a mocking tone and she glared at him.

“You hacked my phone?” she accused William and both of us scoffed again. “You tried to hack our lives, ruined an innocent girl and now you are playing the victim here?” it was me this time. My tone was full of bitterness and only I knew how I was holding my anger back. She looked at me pissed and I nudged William to move from there. There was no way that I was going to stand up there and listened to her bickering.

“Wait… I am not done here”, she yelled but both of us didn’t give her an ear and resumed in our way. “What do you think? Will she be able to find that video of mine and Vanessa?” William asked me in a nervous tone and I sighed. Clearly, I hated that video. Though I knew that was fake still I felt a pang of jealousy when I saw William’s hands on her body in that video.

“I wished that she can’t find that video or else she will make Vanessa’s life hell here for the rest of the year”, I answered him and he also nodded. We both reached the parking area and that was when I felt that something was off there. I pulled William by his arm and stopped him too. “What is it?” he asked me while looking at my hand that was holding his hand.

“We need to go inside”, I said and immediately dragged him behind while running towards the main building. I had seen someone near my car and I was not sure about his intention. “Wait… Nathan… what’s wrong with you?” William yelled but didn’t stop running with me. We entered the main building and we both stopped while breathing heavily. “What’s wrong with you? Why did we run?” William yelled again while catching his breath.

I didn’t answer him but took out my phone from my pant pocket. “Dad… I think.. I saw someone near my car in the parking area of our college. He is hiding behind the car and … I think… someone is also behind the bushes near my car”, I informed my dad and he immediately asked me to go straight to my classes where they couldn’t harm me if anyone was here to harm me.

I hung up and looked at William who was now looking everywhere in a panic. “We need to hide until he calls us back”, I informed him and he nodded anxiously. The classes were already started and we had nowhere to go. “Let’s go into the library”, I said and ushered him towards the library. We could go there at this time.

As soon as we entered the library, I spot Vanessa sitting at the farthest corner of the library. I ran towards her with William on my hot tail. “Va… Vanessa…. Someone is there… i…in the parking area”, I said while sitting down on a chair across her. She raised her brows and then looked at me questioningly. “And?” she asked me and I looked at her dumbfounded.

“And?” I questioned her back and she blinked. Right…. Why I was telling her? It was clearly not related to her. “O… the sweet couple is sitting here, huh?” suddenly Tesla reappeared in front of us and I rolled my eyes in frustration.

“What’s your problem, Tesla?” I yelled and suddenly both William and Vanessa hushed me. “You guys…. Out”, our librarian yelled at us and I looked at them apologetically. Tesla smirked and Vanessa glared hard at me. She closed the books and signalled us to go out with her. We all went out of the library and I sighed while leaning at the wall behind me.

“I didn’t know that you are also interested in Nash that you threw yourself on him, huh?” Tesla eyed Vanessa from head to toe throwing a dirty look. Vanessa was wearing her extra-large faded black hoodie and faded skinny jeans. “What does this have to do with you to whom I am interested, huh?” Vanessa threw the same look on Tesla taking her off guard. “I can say one thing you have no effect on him?” she mocked Vanessa and Vanessa rolled her eyes

William ran his fingers through his hair and was about to say something when Vanessa grabbed his hand and stopped her. Tesla glared at her hand and then looked back at Vanessa. “You should be careful then it will not be witnessed by the whole world, right?” Tesla said as if she was doing a favour to Vanessa by telling her something very secretive. Vanessa scoffed and then spoke again, “Says who … who has millions of likes on her videos, huh?”

Tesla looked at Vanessa as if she had grown two heads at this very instant. Even I and William were dumbfounded right now. “And about my effect on him… do you want to see?” Vanessa looked at Tesla as if she was challenging her. Tesla gave her a challenging look and suddenly took off her hoodie. We all gasped in shock at her. She smirked and then she turned towards William who was looking at her as if he had seen her the first time.

Vanessa took a step towards him and in another second, the whole inside my lungs was knocked off out of my body. Vanessa kissed William on his lips and before I could understand what was happening, William wrapped his hands around her body and kissed her back.

I didn’t know why but I felt that a pang of pain in my chest that constrained my breathing. They both were kissing each other furiously and Tesla was looking at them with wide-opened eyes in shock. They were almost into each other and I didn’t know better, I would surely think that they were a couple.

They broke their kiss while taking deep breaths. Vanessa rested her head on William’s chest and closed her eyes. I balled my fists in anger and I really didn’t know why I was angry. “Stay away from her, Tesla… you should worry about yourself before thinking about harming her”, William spoke this time while tightening his grip around Vanessa’s body that I didn’t like.
