Chapter 5

"How dare you do that to your own goddamn mate!?" Roe burst in the room startling her mate and the Beta.
"What is wrong?" Danni asked as he placed the file on the table and walked to his fuming mate.
"Ask him!" she said with venom in her voice.
"What did I do?" Vince asked not even bothering to look up. He knew exactly what she was talking about.
"Oh don’t give me that 'I don’t give a f**k' look. You know perfectly well what you did." she fumed annoyed by his personality.
"I can’t say anything unless you tell me what it is" he said calmly.
"Did you or did you not tell another person that Maya is not your mate?" she asked making him sigh.
"I didn’t say it like that" he said looking at her.
"Then how exactly did you say it?" Danni inquired raising an eyebrow.
"I just told she doesn’t have a mate. But I did warn him that she is off limits" he said casually as they stared at him in shock.
"You’re joking right. You know that's another way of rejecting her" Danni said as he shrugged.
"I can’t believe you. You are a complete douche and I’m definite if Lo was watching this she will be just as disgusted as I am." She said as he tensed.
" Come on Danni I need to hunt and let off this steam" she said dragging her mate out.
As the door closed Vince placed the file down before looking outside the window. His heart felt heavy for hurting her. He knew by saying that she was not his mate was in fact similar to showing rejection. But he was not ready for her.
He needs time. He needs time to accept a new mate.
But he admits to himself that he was being an asshole. Even he was also disgusted with himself.
He sighed and stood up. He needed to go and apologize to her.
He had gone to her room earlier to check on her but it was empty. Maybe she went back to her room.
He made his way to her room and gently knocked. There was no answer but he could smell her inside. He tried again before opening the door a little.
His eyes roamed through the room before landing on a sleeping figure. Hesitantly he walked towards the bed. He bent down and moved a strand of her hair which fell on her face.
He looked at her face studying her light beautiful freckles. His hand involuntarily moved against the beautiful spots making sparks erupt in his hands. He sighed in content at this experience.
He was going to remove his hand when his mate grunted and moved closer to his retreated hand. He froze in his place as her arms wrapped around his stomach. She snuggled into him smiling making his heart melt.
He got in a comfortable position and put his arms around her stomach. Sparks erupted and for the first time in a year, he fell into a deep and peaceful sleep

"Ahhhh" a scream echoed in the room making Vince fall down with a thud.
"What the hell?!" He shouted as he looked around before landing on the grey headed girl.
"What are you doing here?!" Maya asked as she covered herself with the bed sheet.
She was definitely not n***d as she was wearing a bunny print pajamas but she couldn't help feel insecure and nervous in front of him.
"I’m sorry. I accidentally slept" he said standing up.
"Accidentally slept? In my bed? Let me guess you accidentally thought this was your room?" She asked putting a lot of sass. This man in front of him was frustrating her.
She felt like punching him in the face but at the same time eager to have his lips smashed against her.
"I came to say I was sorry last night. But then you were asleep. Then you grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Thinking that you needed rest I didn’t fight, so I just laid there until you removed your hand. You never did and I fell asleep. You should be happy that I didn't wake you up" he said, arrogant as ever, making her feel even more annoyed.
A part of her was happy he apologized. It made her believe that he cared even a percent, though the other part wanted to kill him for the arrogant way of apology.
"Stupid confused hormones" she cursed herself.
"What?" he asked making her blush.
"Nothing" she mumbled as he gave out a sigh.
"I have to go. I have pack patrol" he said before walking out without another glance.
Sighing in pity for herself she folded her bed sheets and went to take a much needed hot shower.

"Hey Maya" Danni greeted as she walked into the kitchen.
"Hey" she smiled as she sat on one of the empty chair.
The place was packed with people especially of her age. They were happy as they devoured their pancakes and chat.
Her eyes roamed through the room searching for a particular silver eyed guy but sighed when she found none.
Roe and Danni seemed to notice this and they both nodded their head. They had been discussing plans to make Vince fall for Maya.
Roe went and sat on the empty chair next to Maya. She placed her half-eaten pancake down before looking at the snow haired girl.
"Morning Snow girl" she said as the other raised her eyes for the nick name.
"Snow girl?" Maya asked laughing.
"Yea. I hope you learn to like it cause I ain't gonna stop calling you that." Roe said as the other groaned even though she was happy in mind.
"What are you up to today?" Roe asked as she shrugged.
"I don’t know. What about you" Maya asked.
"Well. I have training. I’m one of the first class warriors" she said proudly.
"I want to join too" Maya whined. She had always wanted to join the pack warriors in her old pack but she couldn’t since she didn’t have a wolf.
"Of course you can" Roe said making Maya squeal.
"Really?!" she asked as Roe nodded.
"Of course. I don’t see why not. Get your training shoes and come to the training ground. I’ll wait for you there" she said as Maya shook her head and ran to her room.
She quickly put on a black sports b*a and matching three-forth jeggings. She put a loose pink tank top and training shoes.
Tying her hair to a high pony she quickly ran to the training ground.
The ground was packed with people- Some running, some training. Many were in their wolf form.
"Yo! Maya!" Danni called as Maya waved her hand and jogged to him.
"Oh thank god I found you. This place is big" She said making him laugh.
"Yea. This place is big. Come on follow me" he said as they started walking further.
"Hey. I was wondering. Where is the Alpha and Luna?" Maya asked curiously.
"They went to the Sorcerers Realm. They have some kind of tradition there. Something to do with the king and queen needing a blessing for strong offspring or something. I don’t know they have some weird traditions" he said as the latter nodded.
"Bae." Danni called as Roe waved and walked to them.
"Hey Babe" she said kissing his cheek before turning her attention to Maya.
"Looking Hot and fierce snow girl" she said making Maya roll her eyes and laugh.
"Let's get on with this" she said as the other two nodded.
