Beryl's POV
Tears stung my eyes as I realized the deep s**t I was in.
“Mom.” I exclaimed, turning to her for consolation, expecting to hear something like “it's going to be okay”, but my mom turned her back on me and began sobbing.
“Mom!” I called again in tears, and she immediately dragged me into her arms.
“I’m so sorry, baby. I'm so sorry.” She kept whispering in my ears as we both cried while my aunt covered us both in her hug.
Just when I thought I had a victory over Alpha Kai, and I was going to rest with peace of mind, fate showed me that there was no rest for someone like me, as there were two things involved now. It was either I killed someone or I would be killed.
