Not just a bad Dream

Elodie's eyes shot open. She was back in Emmerson's room. It was still dark, but Elodie could make out Emmerson, he was out of bed pulling on some shorts. "Sorry I didn't mean to wake you." "Emmerson" Elodie could hardly make out any words. "It's okay there is an intruder at the Southern border, don't worry, nothing is going to hurt you, I promise." Emmerson kissed her, his firm lips on hers were so sweet, so addictive, again she wished she could freeze time, forget what was just shown to her. And within an instant he was gone. Elodie felt her hot tears rolling down her cheeks. She knew what she needed to do. She cared for Elara and Emmerson, especially Emmerson, and she was no longer going to put them in danger or get in the way of their destined fate. Putting Emmerson's shirt she rushed downstairs to the alpha's office. She found her bag in the lounge room where they had been earlier that night. Using the light of the night coming through the windows, she pulled on her clothes, her old jeans, long sleeve shirt and boots. She quickly swept her cloak over her as she entered the large wooden doors to the Alpha's office. It was quite grand with a huge wooden desk the size of a living room, a green velvet chair, photos of the pack's history lined the walls, with a large book case and a fire place. Elodie spotted a large lamp by the chair and switched it on. She was then able to spot her lantern under Leon's desk. Before she could even think of her next move she needed to at least try and fix what she had unknowingly robbed Emmerson and Elara of. Elara her beautiful son, and Emmerson.. His destined mate. Elodie found a floral note pad at the back of the top draw. It was lined with red roses and the paper was very fine. She grabbed a pen and started to write letters to both of them, explaining everything. Dear Elara, I'm so sorry, not only for how I left, the risk I bought to your pack by coming, but for the destined fate you were meant to have. The family and friends you were meant to have. Elara, witches are outside the Moon Goddess's realm, which means she can't control or account for witches effects and disturbances to the destined fates of her children. I would have never known the chaos I have caused, if she had not shown me tonight. She showed me glimpses of what your fate was, what it is meant to be - had not I interfered. You were never meant to find my cabin that night you turned 21. Leon would have found you and you would have been together. In secret from the pack, but together. Leon was also not the Alpha at that time either. This only lasts a year and on your 22nd birthday he tells you can no longer be together. You break your mate bonds and leave the pack. Five or so years later you are a part of a new pack. You have a good friend named Dorothy, she is a beautiful tall brunette woman who is really kind to you. You also have a little boy name Leo. Elara he is beautiful despite looking just like Leon. It's obvious he is the father, you may not have known it but you were pregnant when you left the pack that night all those years prior. You reunite with now Alpha Leon and agree to try and work things out. He never stopped loving you despite the mate bond being broken. I'm sorry I don't know any further details to help you fix this and get back what is meant to be yours. I'll remember you always. Take care of yourself and your family With Love Elodie Dear Emmerson, Your mate is a woman by the name of Dorothy. She is a member of another pack within the region. She is beautiful and tall with dark blue eyes and straight brown hair. Elodie _____________________________________________________________________________________ I wish with all my heart that this wasn't the case, Emmerson. I know it is selfish of me, but how I wish you were meant to be with me. I know that sounds absolutely crazy, considering we have only known each other for barely 3 days. I will replay the nights we spent together for the rest of my days and will be forever grateful that those moments and memories are mine. But you deserve your fated mate, you deserve the best in life. If I can do anything I would want to try to do that for you. I'll provide my contact information in the future once things are set right, and if you ever need anything albeit I don't know how I could, but I'll never turn you away. Forever yours Elodie Elodie stared at the letter she had just written to Emmerson for a moment, and then ripped all but the first sentence off and signed her name underneath it. There is no point, Elodie thought. I would just be waiting my whole life for the hope that he will reach out, when that is never going to happen. He just deserves to be with his fated mate. Another wolf he can share magical moments with like Leon and Elara. Stay with his pack and start a family… Elodie flinched at the pain of the last thought. She scrunched up the page and slid it into her bag. She carefully folded the letters and addressed them accordingly. and placed them on the desk and went for the door, swinging her bag over her shoulder and her lantern in her other hand. The door suddenly swung open, Elodie's heart almost jumped out of her chest. It was Elara, looking at her with sad eyes. "O Elodie it's okay! You don't need to go or do anything. They will get the vampire. It will be fine." "Vampire!" Elodie gasped. Fear swept over her at the thought of Lance being close to her once again. The things he did to people. Elodie wasn't sure if he could survive a wolf pack but sure as hell didn't want to risk it. "No! Elara you don't understand, I need to leave now!" "But I thought you and Emmerson" " He has a mate!" She blurted out."I've been getting in the way of the Moon Goddess's plans she showed me tonight. The cabin, everything it was never meant to be here." Elodie started to become hysterical. "Whoa slow down Elodie, what do you mean? Slow down, you are not going anywhere with a vampire out there!" "Elara! You are meant to have a baby! A beautiful baby boy! I'm not going to be the reason another child doesn't walk this earth! Let me leave! I can handle vampires. I have been avoiding them for years remember!" Elara looked completely bewildered. "Okay" She said defeated, grabbing Elodie by the shoulders. " Here take the keys to the car we took today, it's still out the front, only the back seats have been torn out." Elara grabbed the keys off a hook next to the door. "Thank you, these are for you and Emmerson. Everything the moon goddess showed me." She handed her the two letters."Elara, I am so sorry!" "Do not apologize! You didn't do anything wrong! Look after yourself okay, please reach out when you are safe." Elara gave Elodie a big hug. With her heavy heart pounding in her chest, Elodie ran out of the pack house and slid into the black sedan's driver's seat. Plunged the keys into the ignition and pushed her foot to the floor. Flooring the car out of the pack territory as fast as possible. She knew where to go, she would head west, and take the train back to her human life. It was in the original plan but this time she would have to use her wits if she were to get back safely with vampires on the lookout for her. If they had come tonight, after only 6 hours after her spilling blood, Lance was alive and he wanted his "things" back.
