Emmet
The whole car trip home felt like someone was watching me. It was eerily creepy. Zeus couldn’t help me figure it out because the windows were closed and it was so dark driving through the rainforest.
After showering and slipping on a pair of basketball shorts, that eerie feeling settles in again. I go over to my window to peek outside where a pair of hazel eyes are staring back at me.
“Holy f**k!” I exclaim, jumping backwards in fright.
She motions for me to open the window. Funnily enough, she’s already removed the fly screen. She jumps into my room after I open the window and damn, she’s naked again. I advert my eyes to be polite.
“Do you want a shirt?” I ask.
“Sure.” She replies.
I hand her one of my favourites from my wardrobe. She slips it over her head, it just barely covers the tops of her thighs.
“What are you doing here Athena? Did you follow me home?” I question her.
“Uhh.. yeah.” She has the audacity to look sheepish. “I realised I never said something to you today.”
“What’s that?”
She smiles sweetly. “Happy birthday Emmet.” She kisses my cheek, causing my hand to fly up to the spot. She goes back over to the window ready to climb out again.
“Wait, that’s it? You followed me home just to wish me happy birthday then you’re leaving again?”
“Yeah, so?” She c***s her head to the side.
I shrug. “Don’t you wanna stay a while or something?”
“Nah Apollo is waiting for me.”
Jealousy courses through my veins. The thought of another man seeing her naked makes me see red. “Who?”
“My Beta and cousin.” She replies simply. Sometimes she’s a woman of a few words, that’s for sure.
“Oh.”
“Don’t worry, no man has touched this body in years. You’ve got nothing to worry about.” She tries to reassure me. “I’m keeping this shirt by the way. Good night Emmet. Good night Zeus.”
She climbs out, returns the fly screen into position and I watch as she jumps feet first onto the ground. I guess that’s what she meant about having no training. I’d never have the guts to jump down there.
She runs off into the trees and disappears from my view. I miss her already but at least her scent is in my bedroom now. I should be able to survive the next two days without her.
That night my dreams are filled with Athena, the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen in my entire life. I can't wait to be with her again.

I spend the next day getting my drivers license and cutting my hair as per my mates conditions. The back and sides of my hair are clipped short but the top is still relatively long, giving it a swept over, tousled look.
Mum and dad are on their usual Sunday morning wolf run. Was last night not enough for them?
Eliza storms into my room as I’m in the middle of packing my belongings into boxes and bags.
“What are you doing?” She demands with her hands on her hips.
“Packing, what does it look like?”
“Where are you going?”
“I’m moving into the pack house at Blood River. I’m joining their pack.” I advise her.
Her eyes light up. “Really? Can I come too?”
I sigh. “Eliza, you’re only fifteen. Don’t you think you should be asking mum and dad, not me?”
“Our entire lives prior to this week are a lie. We’re werewolves Em! f**k McDonald’s, f**k school. I want to be in the pack too.” She exclaims.
“I’m an adult now so I’m making my own decisions but you need to speak to mum and dad first. I leave tomorrow.”
“Have you told them you’re leaving yet?”
“I’ll tell them tonight at dinner.” I advise.
“I’ll do the same then. I’m off to pack, I’m coming with you whether they like it or not.” Eliza dashes from my room.

Safe to say, my parents were not impressed that both their children are moving out at the same time. There wasn’t much they could argue with though, we should have been born and raised inside that pack as werewolves, not humans.
I haven’t spoken to Oliver. I wonder if that’s even his real name and if he was only pretending to be my friend.
A large van pulls into the driveway and a bulky looking dude jumps out of the drivers seat. He walks up to me and shakes my hand.
“Who are you?” I ask.
“Apollo, future Beta of the Blood River pack. I take it you’re Emmet then?”
“The one and only. I hope there’s room in that van, my sister decided to come too and I had no way of contacting the pack.” I explain to him.
“The more the merrier!” He says cheerfully.
We load everything into the van and my parents barely wave goodbye to us before we’re on our way to our new home.
