CHAPTER SIX- Ruin her for me

2172 Words
Adrianna stepped outside of Derek's mansion with an award-winning smile on her face. Derek had promised to transfer those assets in her name in forty-eight hours. Her plan right now was to receive those assets and then release the evidence she had against him to the media. As much as she wanted to be an honest person, she couldn't be honest to Derek. He hadn't been completely honest to her throughout their marriage, she was merely repaying the favor. Adrianna got into her car and began to speed off. She had no idea where she was going but she just wanted to go somewhere pending the time the assets would be transferred to her. She ended up driving to a high-class restaurant called Sundae's Clay. One of her favorite places to eat steak and braised pork. Maybe it was because the owner of the restaurant was Korean so he was well versed with the best meat seasonings. However, in the current society, even the simplest of things such as eating alone could be criticized. She hadn't ordered yet but there were already a ton of women looking in her direction with curiosity. She could only hope none of them recognized her. After a minute which felt like hours, a waiter approached her table. Before he could ask her anything, she said, "I would like to have a piece of steak, braised pork, and fruit wine." "Understood. The boss told me you're a distinguished guest, so would you like to have a seat somewhere more private?" Adrianna immediately understood. She looked across from her and people were taking pictures. Several were already walking towards her as well. She immediately stood to her feet and followed the waiter to the private lounge in the restaurant. This wasn't a high class for no reason. It had several private lounges for 'very' important people and that was the category Adrianna fitted in. The lounge's theme was like the one in the main one. However, it was more hidden and isolated. Calling it a private lounge was just a name to make it seem cooler than it really was. Adrianna didn't know that wanting to eat could be so depressing. While she waited in her seat for her meal to arrive, she wondered if this was how she would spend her life until she died. It was so boring... So lonely as much as she didn't want to admit it. The meal arrived soon and that made Adrianna's mood brighten. Of course, thinking of eating alone sounded lonely at first but now that her nose was filled with the most appetizing scent, she wasn't so sure anymore. She took a piece of meat ever so diligently and brought it to her mouth. It was heaven! "Yess" She cried, "I've never tasted something so meticulously cooked and delicious!" She didn't know how loud her voice was or how far it reached but she did know she had to appreciate such a high-standard meal. She continued eating and like magic, her loneliness dissipated. This was one of the best pleasures in life. Food. She was glad she could afford this plate. She continued eating, chewing everything in her mouth and gulping down her fine fruit juice. She'd never seen the owner of the restaurant in person nor the chef. However, the owner of the restaurant had acknowledged her several times by having the waiters provide her extra side meals to taste, he'd also granted her this lounge without any extra pay. He was such a kind fellow. She wanted to personally thank him for making the restaurant her safe space, to an extent. After eating, Adrianna exited the lounge and went to the counter to pay. Afterward, she asked for the owner of the restaurant but she was told he had stepped out for a bit. She had no choice but to leave as well. Next time, she vowed. She would see him next time. A few days passed and Adrianna received a document containing the transfer of assets from Derek. That was when she knew it was time to move forward with her plans. A few phone calls were all it took for her plans to be set in motion. After everything had been set, she switched her phone off and celebrated with wine. DEREK ACKERMAN, SON OF CEO ERWIN ACKERMAN CHEATED HIS BUSINESS PARTNER AND BEST FRIEND, THOMAS XANTHONS. The articles that followed contained how Derek cheated on Thomas and how pitiful Thomas was not to complain about it because they were best friends. There were more articles on how he cheated on Adrianna with a model and tried to kill her that she was hospitalized for it. Thankfully, the cameramen that captured Adrianna at the hospital days ago could testify to seeing her looking sad. Phone calls started flying. More sites were uploading the hot news and Derek could do nothing about it when the entertainment news started to talk about his scandal. Not only was his cheating on Adrianna and stealing from Thomas's profit recorded, but his involvement in dealing with dirty businesses was also recorded— further with his family business. In just one day, Derek was doomed and so was his family business. Derek did not have to think too much to discover who the cause of the dire situation was. He knew it was Adrianna! However, all efforts to contact her proved futile. He was desperate! She had promised to let him go as long as he transferred fifty percent of his asset but after the transfer was successful, she exposed him! And he had no f*****g dirt on her! If he decided to expose her cheating on him with Thomas, it would make things worse. Thomas wouldn't let it go and people would mock him for not keeping a woman from the Dhalrahmini family. He hated to admit it but the quote of 'hell hath no fury than a woman scorned' was on point. His ex-wife, Adrianna had ruined him. He knew better than to accept any calls from family members as the result would be more criticism. At this point, he could even be cut off from the family. Thomas cried. Remembering what Adrianna said the last time they met. "...You're the one who wants to get back with me but unfortunately, I didn't leave that option open." As tears rolled down his cheeks, he understood. He understood what she meant. The best way to fix his current situation was Adrianna. As long as she buried the fact that he cheated... As long as she stayed with him, his reputation could be renewed. But would she do that for him? He immediately grabbed his phone and dialed her number. He knew he was being shameless asking for help like this but his life depended on it. Without clearing up this mess, he would be doomed forever. The number you dialed cannot be reachable... Derek removed his phone from his ear. What was he thinking? She had planned flawlessly to bring him down. There was no way this was simply out of jealousy because he cheated on her with another woman. This was revenge on him for being a bad husband. He had even tried to kill her... This was revenge for all of that. "Noooooo" Derek yelled and covered his face as he let out his frustration in a scream. "I can't lose like this! I have to keep trying" BEEP BEEP BEEP Thomas grabbed his phone upon receiving another batch of messages. He was willing to try again. He couldn't give up this way. As he was about to check his messages, he received a call from his lover. He immediately answered it, "Yes baby?" "Derek, are you insane! Why are there horrible reports about me on the internet! Did you cause this?!" "Baby, I can explain—" "— I'm breaking up with you. Messing with you was a mistake in the first place." With that, the line went dead. Derek's phone dropped from his hand as his lover's words replayed in his head. She had blatantly told him that loving him and being with him was a mistake. She had hung up on him without hearing his explanation. Did she even love him? Derek shook with both fright and anger. How come Adrianna was this angry at him for cheating on her but didn't say she was angry to this extent. She never told him anything. He thought she didn't care if he cheated, as long as he made appearances everything would be fine— He was wrong. This reality broke him. He had really lost to the hands of a sly woman. He had lost! After minutes of sulking on the floor, he realized his place. After all, Adrianna was still a Dhalrahmini and a lawyer, he was no match for her or her family. That means, he was nothing. He couldn't go into a fight with her. If he did at his current state, losing was apparent and nothing he did would change that. The only person he could rely on, to ruin his ex-wife was his best friend Thomas Xanthons! *** Thomas was sitting in his office, sipping tasteless coffee while his assistant gasped upon reading a message from his tablet. They had been on the roll, working their hardest with minimum sleep for four days. He had no idea how his assistant could still be so energetic— Energetic enough to emote. He was certain he was no longer capable of that. "Boss, you should see this!" Thomas waved his hands as though to gesture no. "If you're about to show me a manga or some naked woman, I swear I'll kill you." Thomas was very tired and he sounded tired as well so his threatening voice did not give the result he wanted. "No, it's not manga." Nathan, Thomas's assistant walked toward Thomas and placed the tablet in front of him. "It's about your best friend and his wife..." Thomas could not help but be curious. What stuff about them was on the internet? How was that sly fox doing? Thomas picked up the tablet and read the headline. It had his name on it, this made him even more curious. The further Thomas read the article, the angrier he became. Although Derek had cheated him in some businesses, he didn't want this out on the media! "Who the hell posted this?!" He yelled. Nathan sighed, "Boss, is the article true?" Thomas clenched his fists angrily. Although he was a businessman and lying should be familiar to him, he just didn't know how to lie. He'd either maintain silence or change the topic. "Find out who wrote the article and take it down immediately!" Even though the news was true, he'd known Derek for a while. He wasn't about to throw him under the bus. "I'm afraid, it's not that easy." Nathan walked over and showed another news on the tablet. Thomas read through it and shivered. "That's not all, boss," Nathan said with a smile and continued flipping through the tabloids. "T-that's not all?" Thomas's voice was shaky. By the time he was done reading the articles, he knew one thing was for certain. Adrianna was behind this. He had to admit, he was scared. He knew how sensitive Derek was about his image. How could all of this be posted without his knowledge? How could one woman destroy Derek in a few hours without hesitation? Did she not care about Derek the tiniest bit? "No, she did care." Thomas realized. "She just fell out of love with him and began to hate him." Thomas did not want to admit it but this got him on his toes and it scared him. Just how great was that woman? He remembered the night with her. Her innocent-looking face, her beautiful body... They were all facades. She was a monster! But somewhere in his heart, he felt pride for her and respect. He remembered those eyes... Those gorgeous eyes... How he would long to see them again. Just then, his phone rang. Thomas's phone was sitting right next to his coffee so he had no problem reaching over to grab it. "Yes?" He said after checking the caller ID. "Thomas!" The voice cried. "I'm sure you've seen the news by now, please help me. That witch has ruined me!" A smirk rose from the corner of Thomas's cheek. He was not a bad man but Derek sounded pretty desperate after the chaos Adrianna caused. That was not bad at all. "Thomas, I know you won't believe it but that b***h tricked me to transfer fifty percent of my asset to her after threatening me! I thought everything would be good after transferring the assets to her this morning, but then this happened." Thomas tapped his feet gently on the ground. Why was he getting aroused by Adrianna doing Derek dirty? He must be insane. "Please I beg you, ruin her for me."
