CHAPTER FOUR- At least it'll be fun

CLICK! CLICK! CLICK! Adrianna stepped out of the hospital with cameras flashing at her. She was used to this by now so it didn't matter. As usual, she ignored the paparazzi questions and got into the car that had been prepared for her. It was probably from Giselle. "At your service, young miss!" The older man who remained seated in the driver's seat said with a salute. Adrianna raised a brow and checked his reflection through the rear mirror. Her eyes widened as they made eye contact. The driver was also looking at her through the mirror. "Sir Zudov!" Adrianna found it impossible to mask her surprise. This was her stepmother's very own driver. Apart from having a good driving record, he was also a skilled assassin. "Madam's order is to serve you for the day. Is there anything you'd like my help with?" The reporters outside were still taking pictures and gushing over her despite the tinted car windows and it made her uncomfortable. "Let's leave here first," Zudov started the car immediately, turning to look at her briefly before muttering, "Seatbelt," Adrianna immediately understood. She did as told and they drove off. As soon as they got on the road, Zudov said, "Where are we headed?" "My ex-husband's." Zudov hummed and continued to keep the pace of the Jeep. They were on the right track. Adrianna cracked a smile, "You didn't even ask me where it is?" It was useless to ask. After all, she'd constantly been spied on by different sources. How else could Hayley save her from death's grip? She had to admit that Hayley's help did come in handy, if not she would be dead. That was Derek's loss. He should've killed her when he had the chance because now, she would ruin him and enjoy doing it. A genuine smile curved into her lips and Zudov took note of it through the rear mirror. Every single member of the Dhalrahmini family was weird. He even dared say crazy. Not that he was complaining since the pay for serving Giselle was good. When they arrived at her mansion, Zudov asked again. "Do you need my assistance in anything?" "Yes," Adrianna smirked, "Would you do me the honors of opening the door?" Zudov's lips tightened but he did as requested of him. After all, she was quite pitiful considering her ordeals. He knew quite a few of them— Giselle never hesitated to discuss confidential information of the family in his presence. Adrianna stepped out of the car with Zudov's assistance and her eyes brightened as she looked at the mansion in front of her. "Let me see.." She removed her hand from Zudov's slightly curved wrist and stroked her chin, "Should I take his mansion too?" The cars in the parking lot all looked good. She owned half but now she was considering taking ownership of the rest. "Let's go, Zudov." She smiled before heading inside, noting Zudov's swift yet soft steps behind her. The mansion entrance was open. It seemed like Derek had been expecting her. "Aww it seems he's been expecting me, does he miss me?" Adrianna chuckled, making fun of her own joke. They walked further inside. They passed the stairs and headed straight to her room, the one she shared with Derek. Thankfully, they didn't encounter any distractions on the way. However, when they entered her room she heard the water running in the bathroom across the room. The conclusion she came to was that Derek who was showering hadn't noticed her presence in the house yet. If not, he'd start a fuss. She was sure about that. "You have a seat while I pack up, Zudov," Adrianna said casually and went to work grabbing her clothes from the closet. She proceeded to take her travel boxes and fill them with her clothes. Halfway, the running water in the bathroom seized and soon enough, the door opened revealing Derek in a towel. Water was dripping down his face and chest and his slippers were wet with water. "Adrianna!" He yelled, surprised to see her. "How did you come here without my notice!" He clenched his fists tightly but Adrianna wasn't even looking at him. Derek's gaze directed towards Zudov and his anger seemed to skyrocket, "And why are you with this old guy? Do you plan to f**k him in our bedroom this time?" "Watch your mouth, Idiot." Adrianna snapped. This war was between them two, she didn't want anyone else involved. In a softer tone, she turned to Zudov and said, "Could you please take my luggage outside and put them inside a white Mercedes Benz?" Zudov nodded in response. He clearly understood the situation but he didn't trust Derek, he'd tried to kill Adrianna once. Trying a second time would be no hassle for him. Adrianna grabbed a Mercedes car key from the table and handed it to Zudov. He accepted it and gave her a nod in response. He guessed he had no other option than to believe in her. She was a member of the Dhalrahmini, she couldn't survive it if she wasn't tough. Zudov grabbed three of the stocked-up boxes at once and started to walk towards the door. "You! How can you just leave?!" Derek clenched his fists and gave the obviously fit and older man a glare even though the man's back was facing him. Adrianna considered his behavior cowardly and pathetic. If he wanted to pick a real fight, he could've just stopped Zudov but no, all he could do was stare and glare. Now that he was displaying this attitude in front of Xudov, it no longer looked cute in her eyes. Instead, it was pathetic and she loathed it. It was a good thing she had the chance to take him down herself. She would ensure she completed this mission and crush him. "Derek," Adrianna said. She was still packing her jewelry boxes, not sparing him a single glance. "I'm leaving you. Is that alright with you?" "Huh?!" Derek was surprised by her conviction. She was weak and probably couldn't survive on her own, but this was what he wanted. To be separate from her. If she couldn't handle a simple thing such as him cheating on her, she wouldn't make a good wife and survive hard times with him. He didn't want an intolerable woman like that. Besides, she cheated on him. She was literal trash now, no one would want her. Not even Thomas who was seduced by her. "I'm willing to divorce you but the question is if you can handle it?" Adrianna stopped cradling her jewelry to look at Derek for the first time. Derek shuddered upon seeing the look in her eyes. Her eyes were cold which sent chills down his spine. "I see," She said with a smile, "I'll be back in three days with the divorce papers." If it were a normal day, he would have brushed off her statement but the look in her eyes… It scared him! He'd tried to kill her, would she just divorce him and let things be? Yes, that had to be it! He knew Adrianna, she could do nothing else about what he'd done. After all, he was stronger. With that thought in mind, Derek was able to relax. "Okay," he said, "See you in three days." Without another word, she started to head towards the door. Derek was surprised by her. She still had a lot of her things in the room, how could she just leave like that?! "Well… maybe she's trying to hide her tears from me. We spent quite some time together, it must be hard for her." Derek smiled. In this game, he was the winner. "Mr. Zudov agreed to help me today. I wish I could put him to good use but it seems moving my things is the only thing he can assist me with." Adrianna exhaled deeply, "Once again, I have to do all the tasking job." As she cascaded down the stairs, her mood started to lighten. But at least it'll be fun.
