Chapter 10
One of the first girls he would meet after realizing he loved Patricia platonically would be one he met when he hitchhiked to Fries to watch a men’s baseball game at the age of fifteen. Jason walked into the stadium and stood behind home plate, looking to the left and right to find a friend to sit with. Before he could focus on any one though, he heard a familiar voice.
“Hey Jason, come on over and set with us,” Jason’s cousin Everett called out.
Everett was sitting with Denise, his girlfriend du jour. Jason did not need a second prompting and quickly entered the row.
“Hey Ev. Hi Denise.” Jason said as he squeezed in front of them and sat down to the right of the girl.”
“Hi Jason. Are you having a good summer?” Denise said.
