Chapter 9
In December of 1959 the family of now four sat down to dinner.
“You know I told you that Florence Taylor is riding with me and I’m having to take her to Brush Creek?” Leah said in a slow deliberate voice.
“Yeah, I remember that,” Colin answered.
“Well, I saw...something... this week. I want us to go take a look tomorrow. We’re meeting someone at Oscar Byrd’s store at 10 in the morning.”
The next morning Leah told Lisa to watch Jason for a few hours. Lisa thought to herself, this must be really important, because usually Saturday mornings were reserved for the whole family to go to Galax for groceries and to window shop.
