A month later there was a play at the high school and Katy Lynn asked Jason if he could come down on Thursday night and take her to it. The school auditorium was within sight of Katy’s house, so her parents agreed to let her go straight to the play and back.
After the play, Jason walked Katy Lynn home. He stepped inside the front door to hug the girl goodbye as he had done a dozen times over the last three months.
