Caleb was patient with me, but I could tell his patience was slowly starting to wear thin on my behalf as well as his own. It had been two weeks since he told me about my mother and I still hadn’t made a move to meet her or try to make contact. The one thing he couldn’t find out was why they let me go.
“She sold me, Caleb.” I sighed impatiently. “What makes you think that she will want to see me now?” I was curious about her and my bloodline, but I wasn’t going to force myself onto someone who didn’t want me to begin with.
