The fact that neither of her parents showed red-eyes, didn’t mean they weren’t red-eyed alphas. I had found out a lot more about our kind while searching for her parents and when you were from the bloodline, it didn’t necessarily mean you would show it. As the bloodline grew weaker though mating with other bloodlines, so the rules of becoming red-eyed changed. The biology behind it changed.
You had to do something or go through something for the gene to activate. That was the tricky part. Nobody had to date figured out exactly how a red-eyed alpha activated their gene. It was a little infuriating since I wanted to surprise Riley by giving her all the information and not just a part of it. I also had to lie to her if I wanted to go and see her mother, which I didn’t want to do.
