I ran at vampire speed through the forest that made up most of Forks Washington. I enjoyed watching the various animals and plants I passed by with my perfect vampire eyes. Everything was fascinating with my new eyes and everything was in vibrant colors. It reminded me of watching tv in HD.
When I came out to the edge of the forest beside my dads I slowled entirely. Alice said he would be in his bedroom so it would be a matter of scaling the side of the house to where my bedroom was and then head across the hall.
I was impressed with how easy I was able to jump the side of the house and slide the window up. In less than a second I was standing inside my window which seemed untouched since I left. Even the clothes I had left on the floor when I left was there. I ran my fingers along a small trinket box on my dresser before I lifted the lid. There sitting inside was a beautiful bracelet that my father had bought me when I turned 13. I lifted it from the box and put it on before I headed from my bedroom.
I listened carefully and could hear my father sobbing lightly in his bedroom. I opened the door quietly and saw my brother sitting on the edge of his bed with his back to me. I closed the door and then walked across the room to stand at the window.
"Daddy." I spoke gently in my vampire surprano vocals.
His head slowly looked in my direction, eyes wide. Now was the time for me to say something, anything to start this 'ghostly conversation'.
"Please don't be sad anymore, I'm no longer in pain." I finished.
My dad wiped his eyes and moved to his feet. "Bella?" He spoke.
Just at the perfect time the sun shone through the window causing me to sparkle. I nodded my head once.
"I'm here to help you move on. I've seen you crying, in your room, in my room, at the diner. You shouldn't hurt like this. Don't be sad that I am gone, trust me I am in a better place. I am at peace."
My father wiped his eyes. "I just want to know if you suffered." my father asked me.
I gracefully shook my head. "No, it was quick. I sorta hit my head on a rock at the bottom and I died instantly."
I heard him make a choaking noise and turn away. I walked forward and placed my hand on my fathers hand. He jumped from the icyness of my touch but he didn't pull away.
"I want you to go out and do your best to be happy. When I look down on you I want to see you happy not in pain." I placed my hand on his heart before I moved to hug him.
He closed his eyes and I took this moment to zip to the window and slip quietly from it. I made it inside the line of the trees all in the same second. I headed back to the house and as I entered Gracie ran into my arms.
"Momma there is a bad man in the house." She whispered to me.
My head snapped up immeadiately and I let my senses kick in. I sniffed the air and felt the threat instantly. I walked carefully into the next room and came to a stop behind a wall made of the Cullens. I set my daughter to her feet and then manuevered through the crowd. There standing in the middle of the room was none other then Jacob.
"Rosalie where is Sarah?" I asked.
Rosalie crossed her arms with stingy look upon her face. "We don't know, apparently Jacob lost her."
I felt my mind twist and turn in a million directions and then I began seeing red everywhere. I lunged forward and tackled Jacob to the floor and wrapped my hands loosely around his neck before I let a large growl rip through my chest.
"WHERE IS MY BABY!" I shrieked.
Jakes eyes were wide in fear as he looked in my eyes.
"Bella... you're a vampire?" he stuttered.
I gently flexed my fingers and slammed his head into the floor. "Damn straight." I growled. "Now where is my baby at?" I hissed.
I felt Jake shrug his shoulders. "I can't be too sure. I have been looking for her since day one. You see I accidentally crashed Carlisle's car and I had a way to go to get to my dads so I phased into my wolf form and was carrying the carseat in my mouth. Some how I guess I wasn't paying attention because I ended up near the Canadian border and had to turn back around. I ended up stopping to take a nap though because I was tired and when I woke up the carseat was empty. It was weird though because there were small footprints leading away from the scene."
"So what you are telling me is that you are a dead beat father who lost my daughter?" I asked fiercly.
"I don't know what I am okay Bella. I just know that I have been looking for my daughter since I lost her and blondy and her boyfriend disrupted me. I was on her trail." He replied.
I released him from my grip and rose to my feet in the next second. My daughter was out there somewhere and Jake had been on her trail.
I turned to Rosalie. "I need you to show me where you found the dog at"
Rosalie nodded her head once and her and we headed out. We ran north towards the Canadian border and turned short making out way into the state of Idaho. We stopped just inside the border and began sniffing around for the scent that Jake said he was following.
"Do you smell anything?" Rosalie asked me.
I shook my head. "Let me try my basic instincts." I whispered before closing my eyes. The wind around me began to blow and a familiar scent was picked up. Scents carried memories and the only memories that I had associated with this scent was those memories with my daughter. I opened my eyes and took off running as fast as I could following the scent.
I came out into a clearing and stopped. The smell was strongest here. I snapping of a branch grabbed my attention and I looked up. There in the trees was a girl, she looked to be around 3 years old.
"Who are you?" She asked in a small high pitched tone.
"I'm Bella. I'm looking for my daughter, Sarah." I finished.
The young girls' eyes widened and she jumped from the branch to land before me. "I'm Sarah." She whispered.
I brought my hand to my mouth as I stared at the girl before me. This girl claiming to be Sarah was around 3 years old. She hadn't been alive for three years so it had to have been impossible. But yet she looked exactly like my daughter. The only thing that could explain her quick growth was if she was part hybrid. But that would mean my mother was hybrid or Jakes mother was.
I shook that from my mind and moved to bring Sarah into my arms. She quickly took a step back.
"Sarah?" I whispered. "It's me, its mommy." I told her.
"You left me." She squeeked.
I shook my head despereately. "Sarah, I didn't leave you, your father took you from me."
She frowned. "That guy left me in the forest by myself." I moved forward to bring her into my arms but she stepped back again. "He said I ruined his life."
I moved forward once more but this time she didn't move. I brought her into my arms and held her closely. "Baby girl you didn't ruin anything you made my life better." I told her. "You are one of the most important things in my life."
I took a deep breath to try and settle my emotions. I couldn't believe I found my baby girl. Sarah was alive and in my arms, that was more than I could ask for.
Rosalie who was talking on the phone to Esme came over to my side. "We need to get back to Washington your plane is about to take off in two hours." she finished.
"You are going to ride on my back okay love. Hold on tight" I said before I moved her to my back.
Rosalie and I took off running through the woods towards the city of Tacoma. We would be getting picked up by Adam and Edward and Eve short of the highway. Just as we reached the edge of the forest we stopped. Seconds later Edward pulled up in his volvo. Edward was in the front with Eve and Adam was in the back with Grace on his lap. I slid in the middle with Sarah on my lap and Rosalie slid in beside me adn then we were off again.
In 10 minutes we were outside the airport, it was busy and to our advantage it was was a severely rainy day. Edward grabbed our bag we were taking and I took Sarah into my arms while Adam took Grace, with Eve behind us we headed into the airport.
I turned my head to look behind me just in time to see Rosalie driving away with a smile on her face. I felt whole again, I felt at ease. I had Adam, Gracie and Sarah. Life was as close to perfect as it could get.
