Chapter 15Thad was fighting back tears. Tears never helped, but he couldn’t think of anything that would. He was cold, hurt, unable to do magic, unable to make Sandy solid. There was nothing he could do. He wanted to call for Sandy to come back, which was stupid. He’d lived without having a ghost sidekick for thirty-seven years, and now loneliness swamped him as soon as Sandy was out of sight. “They’re coming!” Sandy ran toward him, and Thad jumped to his feet only to groan in pain.
