(Astrid POV)
“You really think you can walk away like that?” a familiar voice rose as I froze in place.
I took a deep breath and turned, my light brown eyes met with a pair of ocean blue ones.
“Elliot” I breathed out.
“Astrid” for the first time in 5 years I heard him call my name.
I couldn’t help the tears from forming in my eyes. I never thought I would hear him call me again.
I watched as his face turned to that of worry but it was only for a second before it turned completely void.
“Ash, you alright?” Dave asked from behind, his voice filled with worry.
“I’m alright,” I said but my eyes never left his blue orbs.
“Who are you?” Elliot asked as he looked at Dave.
“Dave Jeffery. Her senior” he replied.
“You were there yesterday,” Elliot said as he looked at Dave from top to bottom.
“What are you doing here?” I asked finally deciding to speak up.
“What do you think, princess?” he asked as he looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
“Somehow I knew you will come.” I murmured looking away from his eyes.
“Then why do you act surprised?” he asked as I glared at him.
His face wore a smirk as if he was satisfied by the way he silenced me.
“Look. This is my college. I want to have my last year in peace. Don’t make a scene” I said sighing.
“I’m sure it won’t be a scene if you just leave your senior and get in the car” he said as my eyes widen.
“What are you…?” I was starting to speak but he waved his hand, cutting me off.
“Get in the car. We need to talk” he said coldly staring at me.
I looked around to see many people looking. Some of them were even in my class. They are all looking at us confused and shocked.
“Fine,” I said before walking with him.
“Astrid! Are you seriously going with him?!” Dave stopped me grabbing my hand.
But before I could react, Elliot pushed him away while pulling me close.
“It is not your decision whether she goes with me or not. I suggest you stop involving yourself into this matter and go on home or I won’t hesitate to end you” he replied, his voice cold and fierce as though he meant every word.
“Dave, you go ahead, please. I don’t want you to get involved in these matters” I said before I made way to the car.
“You coming?” I asked as I turned and looked at Elliot who was smirking at Dave.
The ride in the car was filled with awkward silence and I kept sneaking a glance at him.
He changed a lot in appearance too
He was more fit than 5 years ago. He even has stubble and his beautiful eyes have lost the liveliness. Hell! He is wearing a tuxedo!
When we were dating he hated that thing and he would always curse his father for making him wear it.
“Are you done checking me out, princess?” he asked as I blushed and looked outside.
“I’m not checking you out,” I said as he gave a small laugh.
“I hope he is not your boyfriend,” He said as I turned to him shocked.
“What if he is?” I asked raising an eyebrow at him.
“I really don’t want to add a new enemy to my list, princess. He will be at the very top if he plans to take what is mine” he said as I felt my anger boiling up.
Oh hell no! He no longer has the role to interfere or know about my life! That role died when he f*****g pretended to be dead 5 years ago!
“What I do with my life is none of your business. You have absolutely no right over me” I said as he sighed and looked out.
Huh? That’s it? No comebacks? No response?
Fine!
I turned and looked out the window glaring at the passing buildings.
The car stopped in front of a huge restaurant.
“What are we doing here?” I asked as I looked at the huge 5-star restaurant.
“To eat. Why else would we be here?” he asked as he got out and came to open my side of the door.
“I’m not hungry. Let’s talk and then part our ways” I said stubbornly refusing to get out.
“I haven’t eaten anything and I’m hungry. You don’t have to eat just accompany me” he said as I glared at him.
“You can eat after we talk,” I said as he shook his head.
“I won’t talk until I eat, princess. If you want you can be stubborn. Sit in the car the whole day. But unless and until we buy food I won’t talk to you and I won’t let you go until we talk” he said as I groaned and look at his void face.
“Fine! Move!” I said as I got out of the car and walked to the restaurant not caring if he was behind me.
