Chapter 5

ARIANNA POV

“Mum am home.” I announced as I entered the house.

“In the kitchen.” I heard her voice.

I dropped my bag on the couch and walked to the kitchen. I saw her cooking some pasta. I smiled and hugged her. She hugged me back. Now this is so nice. My mother's touch was a perfect drug.

“Welcome back my baby girl. How was school today?” she asked me as she returned back to what she was doing.

“It was a bit different from my other school and I found out some amusing things but I can't tell you because what happens in the school building stays in the school building.” I said to her smiling as I thought about how werewolves were real. I can't frighten her by telling her about my discovery.

“Oh really now. Well hope you made a friend?” she asked.

“Of course I did. I have a new friend whose name is Dean.” I answered her as I remembered the only kind person I met in school.

“Dean? A male. Woah I think am interested in knowing more about this Dean guy. Tell me now is he handsome?” she asked giving a strange look.

“Yes Mum. Dean is so handsome. He has cute pair of eyes and his is tall and well built and.....”

I was interrupted by my mother's laugh. I then realized that I said what I shouldn't have. Now she will have the wrong idea in her mind.

“Mum no. It's not what you think it is.” I said to her trying to erase what she is thinking of. But the deed has been done. She will never believe me.

“Are you now because I'm sure my eyes never lies to me and I'm definitely sure that you my child are in love with this friend of yours.” she said.

“Mum I am not in love with him. His just someone I met today.” I told her.

“So it's love at first sight. So interesting.” she teased.

“MUMMMM!!!!!” I whined but she laughed at me.

“Mum really it's not love at first sight. I have no feelings for him. We are just friends that's all no strings attached.” I said to her.

“It's alright then. Make sure you invite ‘YOUR FRIEND’ over so I can see him.” she said emphasizing on the word my friend the most.

I couldn't say a word because I knew she will end up teasing me with it so I just nod my head to answer her.

“But wait a minute, this isn't the clothes you wore when leaving the house and this is also not your clothes because the size is so different from your size. What happened to your other clothes?” she asked looking at me.

I totally forgot about the new clothes I was wearing and it skipped my mind that my mother will notice. I quickly thought of the lie to tell her because there's no way I will tell her that I was bullied in school. If possible I want to take it to my grave.

“Mum I fell inside a pond of mud by accident. So I ruined my clothes. I couldn't wear it and move around the school with it so Dean gave me his spare clothes to wear.” I told her half a lie and the other half was the truth. I mean it was Dean who gave me his clothes so it's not completely a lie. I just hope she believes me and not talk about it.

I was surprised when she began to smile again.

“So Dean gave you his clothes to wear? Awwn that's so sweet of him. I can see it's not one-sided love after all. You both are feeling something which is mutual for each other. I'm so happy for my baby girl. She has found true love.” she said happily.

I felt like the ground should open and swallow me. I quickly ran out of the kitchen and went upstairs to my room. I closed the door and fell on my bed.

My mother just had to embarrass me with her words. But what I don't get is why my heart is beating so fast. It's not true that I am in love with Dean.

I stood up and removed the clothes so she won't see me with it and tease me again.

I wore a loose trouser and Ace's shirt which I stole from him months ago.

I picked Dean's clothes and wanted to drop it in the laundry basket but then I stopped. I kept looking at it and smiled as I remembered how we read together and how we talked and laughing as he escorted me home.

Dean is really a nice person. But I'm scared to fall in love with him. Because I'm scared that what happened earlier with the case of Andrew will repeat itself. I'm sure Dean is also a werewolf without doubt and I'm sure he has a mate.

I don't want to fall in love with him and he will now introduce me to his mate. This means I can't have him as mine so I better just forget about him. It's better not to fall for him to avoid getting myself hurt.

But it's hard to forget about him. His gentleness and kindness has won my heart. I fall in love with people who are kind and caring to me. That's why I made a mistake with Andrew and I thought he liked me.

I need to stop thinking about that bastard. He is my painful past. If I must heal completely, I have to erase everything about him. I shouldn't think about him again or else I will only be hurting myself while his out there having fun with Ella.

Knock knock.

“Hey you i***t, come out. Mum wants you to come downstairs and eat.”

My brother said after knocking on the door.

I quickly dropped Dean's clothes in the laundry room and walked to the door. I opened it to see my big headed brother.

“Let's go. I'm f*****g hungry and I need to eat.” he complained as he began to walk.i followed him behind rolling my eyes and mimicking him behind his back. It's a good thing he didn't see me or else I would have been in trouble.

“How was school?” he asked me as we walked down the stairs together.

“It was fine. How about you?” I asked him.

“I love my new school. I never expected it to be the way I saw it. I made a lots of friends and damn you need to see how hot all the girls look. There is no single one who is ugly among them. Even the nerds with glasses looked so freaking hot. I can't wait to go back tomorrow and tomorrow and forever.” he said excitedly.

At least one of us is more excited about school. I'm only excited to see Dean and not the whole school but my brother is excited to see the whole school or no, he is excited to see most especially the girls there. Such a man w***e. I thought smiling.

We went to the dinning room and sat down in our chairs. Mum came out with our food and she joined us as we began to eat. We talked as we ate. Ace kept on cracking jokes making us to laugh that mum almost choked on her food. We had to stop him from speaking so we can eat without letting our food go to the wrong pipe.

After we finished eating, I washed the plates and dried them before joining Ace and Mum in the living room. Ace was happily telling mum about how many girls were in his class and the how he collected some numbers of few. Mum listened to him attentively not interrupting him at all. She didn't even tease him like she did to me earlier.

We were still talking when Dad walked in. As his favorite child, I ran to hug him. He lifted me up for a minute before dropping me down.

“Welcome daddy.” I said to him smiling as I collected his briefcase from him.

“Thank you Queen. How are you and hope you enjoyed school?” he asked as he sat down.

“I am fine and I really enjoyed school.” I answered him.

“Alright young lady take your dad's briefcase to our room and let me talk to my husband. I missed him too.” Mum said frowning at me.

I laughed at her and ran upstairs to my parents room. I dropped my dad's briefcase on their bed and went downstairs.

“Now that Queen is around, I have something to tell you all. So my friend who I told you about invited us over to his house for dinner by seven. I couldn't refused his invitation so you should all prepare so we can go there.” Dad said.

“We definitely have to go so we can see him and thank him for giving us this big house and also for giving you a better job. And I also want to see him. At least I can get to leave this house. I just hope his wife is nice.” Mum said.

“I just hope he has a beautiful daughter.” Ace said.

“Ace shut up. Don't try to play with my friends daughters. I can't be enemies with them because of your reckless habit. I can't wait for the time you will fall in love with only just one lady. You will definitely stop playing around with plenty girls.” Dad said to Ace.

I also can't wait for Ace to find the one for him. I won't blame him though because the way he is right now isn't his fault. He was once a faithful boy but then his first love changed him after he caught her cheating on him. He almost lost himself but it's a good thing he healed but he changed.

We got ready by six fourty. Dad drove us to the venue. I was surprised when we arrived the place. It was a huge mansion that was right in front of us. Dad's friend must be very rich.

We got down from the car and walked to the door. Before Dad could knock, the door was opened. It was a maid. She greeted us and lead us inside. She took us to the dinning room which was huge. The dinning table was so long and wide. It was like they made so to accommodate a whole nation.

My eyes began to look around. I saw some elderly people sitting watching us with a smile on their faces. My eyes continued to moved when they stopped abruptly.

At first I couldn't believe my eyes but after rubbing it with my finger, I noticed that I was seeing so fine.

I was looking directly at the smiling face of Dean and a frowning face of that Alpha guy.

What the hell is going on here? Hope it's not what I'm thinking of?
