Chapter 20

James PoV My face heated seeing Lily in the kitchen instead of my cousin. "Did you guys eat already?" I asked her to start a conversation. "I'm waiting for Natasha actually." She said realizing the table was all set. "How about you?" She asked. "I think, I'll join you," I said and she immediately prepares a set for me. "Lily, I'm sorry for earlier." I started and she paused as she placed my plate on the table. "I don't think, it's the best time to talk about it, James." She said, Lily always cut me off. "Lily is right, can we eat first?" Natasha supported her as she made her appearance in the kitchen. "I don't think it's in her room." She whispered to me as she took her seat. "I'm sorry if I let you wait, Lily. Nature is calling me before I get my phone in your room." Natasha said and I get what she meant just now. She was looking for my letters already. If it's not in her room, then it must be somewhere and probably in the stock room. "What are we waiting for? Let's eat guys!" Natasha said, always excited about food. The table was quiet. Neither I nor Lily wanted to talk while we are eating. "James, did you buy my favorite spread?" Natasha asked. "It's out of stock." I deadpanned. "What? That's so sad, I'm kind of craving for it." "You always have them back home," I commented which she didn't mind. "Lily, why don't we go out tomorrow? I hope you are not busy over the weekend." Natasha asked trying Lily to join in the conversation. "Where do you want to go?" Lily asked. I concluded these women talked already. "Hmmm... How about those places James always mentioned to me? Like the secret place, the treehouse - " "I'll do that for you. Lily is busy with her school projects." I butted in, Natasha was clearly reminding Lily about the past. "James, I already asked you before but you are too lazy to tour me around!" Natasha said and I looked at her in disbelief. Never did she ask me about it, all she asked were food. I'm about to argue but she pinched my hand under the table. "Please, Lily? I'm bored to death already. My cousin here is not treating me right." She pleaded. "Don't talk bad about me as if I'm not around." I defended myself in front of Lily. "I can tour you around tomorrow," Lily said which immediately brightened my cousin's face. "Really? Thank you! Good thing you are here, Lily. I don't think, I can stay longer here with my cousin because we are literally dog and cat when we are fighting." Natasha said which is not necessary. "Natasha, I don't think it's necessary for you to tell Lily about it." I was clearly annoyed by her talkative mouth. Lily was seemed amused by our bantering in front of the food. "You know what Lily? I can still remember how James and I met. He kept me telling things on repeat." "You better stop now, Natasha." I don't think I can stand any further. "He talks about you a lot!" There she is. She just said it, and my face immediately went red in front of Lily. Lily, on the other hand, was blushing too. "What do you think, you are doing?" I whispered at Natasha, trying to stop her. "I'm obviously helping you." She whispered back. "Just don't do it." But she can't stop. "He even wrote letters for you. Have you received them?" Natasha said and I just mentally facepalmed. "Letters for me?" Lily asked in surprise and Natasha was just grinning. Seeing the face of Lily proves to me that she did not receive any single letter from me. She then looked at me in an unexplained stare. I just nod at her in confirmation.
