Always You

James PoV I was in the balcony just like ten years ago when I first saw her. I was staring at the gate wishing it will open and Lily will walk in, then waves at me with a beautiful smile. I sighed knowing it will not happen. I left her without any goodbye and I don't have any communication with her all these years, she might have had forgotten me. The memory on that day made me smile. My twelve-year-old self-hid under the curtain and never got out that day to play with her which I regretted all night. It took me the courage to approach Lily the next day she was back. She was in the garden trying to catch some butterflies and I knew it was my way to talk to her. I hand her the very beautiful butterfly in our garden which she really liked. Her eyes were shining seeing it and she gave me the most lovely smile ever. A smile that caused my little heart to a jump. "I'm Lily! I thought you will never play with me, you did not come out yesterday." She said looking at me and back to the butterfly. "Why not? I'm James." My short answer. "That's a very nice name!" She replied instantly and grabbed my hand for a handshake like we are an adult on our first meet. "Lily is a nice name too." I did not forget to compliment her back which I secretly learned from my father. Her hands were tiny and I decided not to let it go as we run to play. My reverie was cut short when my phone beeped, a message from my mom. Son, this is not to surprise you, but there is something I didn't tell you. Someone you know is taking care of the house and she didn't know you are coming. The gate cracked a sign that someone is about to come in, might be the housekeeper. My heart almost stops from its beating, it's not the housekeeper but Lily. The person I wished to see earlier. What is she doing here? My heart pounded. Her long, wavy brown hair was bouncing back in the air as she makes her step on the ground. The moment ten years ago seems on its recapitulation, only she was not smiling and excited this time. Lily looks tired and sleepy as she was looking in the ground. Ten years did so well for her, she is really lovely. Observing her from a distance builds something inside me, a feeling a man can normally feel when he is attracted to a woman. Before Lily can see me, I'm no longer standing in the balcony, I went inside my room pacing back and forth. What should I say to her? Did she still remember me? I'm no longer like a twelve-year-old that hides under the curtain, I should meet her. And I decided to go down, there's no way she will forget me as I always remember her all this time.
