I hate those rogues so much, they are destroying innocent lives so we are here to see how we can rebuild and kill them plus I think this is very personal for Elijah they killed his father.

Says Colt, he’s one of the best fighters in blood moon …everyone agrees. We come up with strategies but as we discuss my mate walks in, I breathe in her intoxicating scent, Elijah stands up, taking her to the corner, she wants to go out but he’s refusing her, my mate is a free spirit and hates being caged in the house or having guards follow her around but that’s the only way she can be safe until we kill the rogues who are attacking packs.

After some time of agreeing to disagree Elijah allows her, noticing all of us, she blushes with embarrassment but goes back for her card, she makes weird funny faces towards the beta and I let out an involuntary growl. She leaves looking satisfied but I can’t help but worry about her safety I need her to come home with me, I can protect her better there, Elijah has good security for her too but I want her close and am not leaving without my mate I have to talk to Elijah I don’t think he’ll let her go easily

After the meeting we head out and just talk I don’t see Tara anywhere is she still out? Should I go and look my wolf is feeling agitated but just when I was about to head out to look the most beautiful and intoxicating smell hits me oranges and rain our eyes meet I feel so relieved now the wolf was going crazy not knowing where she was or how she is….

She’s wearing a beautiful meron dress that attaches to her body like a second skin and has openings in the sides ….she only has clothes that show too much skin and beautiful black shoes, our eyes meet immediately, was she looking for me too? I feel at ease and calm

‘my mate is beautiful,' purrs my wolf, I nod, no arguments there, she breaks eye contact with me, and my wolf whimper, she keeps looking anyway but my direction. I watch her interact with a few people, Elijah clears his throat lightly, how long has he been standing here?

Seeing us approach, she smiles at her brother lightly. After introducing us he leaves us alone to greet other guests. she looks nervous, I don’t know why I know my reputation is not quite the best, is it the reason why?

“walk with me, show me around,” she looks hesitant and wary but nods.

“I won’t bite” she laughs... her laugh Is the sweetest sound I’ve ever heard, I take her hand and we leave the party. A lot of people look at me strangely but bow their heads in respect.

We are silent until I start to feel another wolf's presence, we are being watched.

“Oh it’s just the guards, my brother doesn’t like me going without them?” she says annoyance dripping off her words.

“Yes, the rogues are growing in numbers,” rogues are now a problem, they want territory.

“So what do you do here, other than school?” I ask

“Well, I train our young warriors” I nod

“What else?” she looks at me as if thinking about it.

“I just go out really, I used to play the piano but I don’t like it anymore,” this time we stop walking and turn to look at her.

“Why?”

“My dad loved it when I played but ever since he died, I've never played,” we sit by a bench in the park as she tells me about her favorite places in their territory.

“You should play, I’d like you to hear you,” I tell her sincerely with a small smile tugging on my lips.

“I’ll play for you one of these days” I nod happily, I can’t believe she wants to play for me, one of the guards who were hiding comes out, he doesn't say a word, I can see the worry on his face," my mate sucks in a deep breath.

"My brother asked for me “ she stands up, it’s a bit chilly now. We walk back to the Salvatore mansion at a quick pace, when we reach people are still partying.

“Okay, then see you, Tara," she nods and starts talking to other people

I am soon joined by my little brother, my beta Isaac and Lexi. As we were going into the conference room for a quick meeting, I hear voices, angry voices in the room

“Eli, calm down, please “ that’s my mate’s voice, why does she sound broken?

“I won’t calm down, Tara. Victoria please take her out, she’s getting upset,” he orders, It’s silent for a while but as we are about to start our meeting, Elijah's beta Enoch talks

“ Remember that man you killed? That was his cousin or friend he was just stalling to buy him more time, but do you think he’s the rogue leader?” he says then asks the last part.

“Maybe, he’s been obsessed with Tara ever since she was just a little girl,” that woman again Victoria responds.

“He hurt her and escaped, killed our warriors and after five months later sends her flowers?” he says in pure anger. I am even angrier right now. It happened five months ago that’s when her father died

“well, I think he killed the rogue leader and took over," a voice I don’t recognize says.

“oh, so now he wants lands and my sister,” he growls their alpha, clearly annoyed

“he’s not having either, Alpha," his beta reassured him

“The rogues want the lands, both the blood moon and this territory while he just wants her, but he can’t get to her without an army “ another female voice speaks, it’s calm and sounds older.

“So the best way was to kill the rogue alpha and take over, ” Victoria finishes with a sigh.

“He promised them what they have always wanted..our lands “ The male voice speaks again, who is he? He seems to know a lot.

“Now we have guests, let’s go already” concludes Elijah, with that, it gets quiet even the conference room we are in is quiet.

I go out and the others follow, who is this man they were talking about? I asked if he knew the rogue leader but they said they weren’t sure. We go back to the party no one dares to say a word to me not even my silly baby brother.

My wolf is going crazy, I wish I had gotten her sooner when I found out she was my mate.

No one would have hurt her, am already a bad mate, how did I not feel her panic

my wolf says in a low tone, he feels as miserable as I am, what if her brother had not got there in time, he would have r***d her. I now know why he’s always so protective of her.

“Damon, are you ok?” I turn to see Elijah looking at me with concern, I nod and he smiles. The party goes on, everyone laughs but I don’t see Tara anywhere.

‘You good? ' asks my brother through the mindlink, I sigh audibly, Colt Is the only person that can read me.
